- Development issues and player weariness pile up as FF14 struggles to meet player demands and expectations.
The upcoming mobile version of “Final Fantasy 14” is showcasing certain aspects of the game, and devotees of the original “Final Fantasy 14” aren’t overjoyed about it. It’s not that the mobile game appears subpar, but rather it seems to incorporate elements and additions that the traditional “Final Fantasy 14” MMORPG doesn’t have.
Currently, Final Fantasy 14 is progressing through its content following the Dawntrail, with Cosmic Exploration being the latest addition. Players are continually seeking fresh content, and not all of their requests find satisfaction as intended. Regrettably, it appears that elements long desired by fans – yet still missing in the standard MMORPG experience – may soon be accessible via the mobile version of the game.
Players of Final Fantasy 14 have been closely examining the details about the upcoming mobile version of the game. Notably, they’ve mentioned that the mobile version will feature equipment with 16 different dye slots for personalizing gear appearance, as well as iconic items like Gaius’ Garlemald armor and Sephiroth’s single wing. However, some fans on Reddit have expressed their dissatisfaction with these additions, as they’ve been requesting more glamour sets and additional dye channels for quite some time now. To put it in perspective, Final Fantasy 14 only recently introduced a secondary dye channel, but it hasn’t been applied to all gear yet, and the desired customization isn’t always met with the secondary dye channels provided.
Final Fantasy 14 Frustration Keeps Piling Up
In addition to the current issues plaguing the MMORPG, there are many others that players have voiced concerns about. Recently, some players have been envious of World of Warcraft, as it has recently introduced its housing system, which differs significantly from Final Fantasy 14’s. For instance, houses in Final Fantasy 14 are destroyed after a specified period of inactivity, and players can only store up to 400 items in the largest homes. On the other hand, World of Warcraft does not have a demolition timer, and allows for an impressive 10,000 items.
Some gamers attribute these problems to more than a decade elapsing since the launch of Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn. Over the years, Final Fantasy 14 has encountered development challenges similar to those faced by its predecessor, Final Fantasy 11, as it was initially designed for older PlayStation consoles. Despite being a highly popular MMORPG, Final Fantasy 14‘s issues are accumulating, and coupled with the lukewarm reception to the Dawntrail expansion from fans, players are growing tired.
