In simpler terms, Monster Train 2 is an exceptional game that combines features from deck-building and roguelike games, along with elements of tower defense. At the start, you might find it slightly complex due to the unique blend of genres.

Fortunately, you’ll quickly grasp the game’s requirements after just a couple of tries or so.

Enter, Dimensional Challenges.

When you believe there’s nothing more in typical runs to surprise you, Monster Train 2 offers the chance to uncover a Dimensional Portal. This portal grants access to an array of fresh, challenging, and intricately crafted levels, complete with unique modifications and prerequisites.

If you’re open to a bit of an added challenge and maybe even eager to earn some additional perks, I’d be happy to guide you on the process of accessing the Dimensional Challenges within Monster Train 2.

In this way, the sentence retains its meaning while sounding more conversational and engaging for a reader.

Unlock The Dimensional Portal

To participate in the Dimensional Challenges within Monster Train 2, you initially need to unveil the Dimensional Portal. You may have noticed a bar at the screen’s bottom labeled “Next Feature Unlock: 0/2—Unlock Pyre Hearts.” This is your objective.

Fortunately, you’ll find three Pyre Hearts early on in the game that are quite straightforward to acquire. Here’s how to get each one:

1. Pyre Heart 1: …
2. Pyre Heart 2: …
3. Pyre Heart 3: …

Let’s explore them all!

Here are your options: You can pick any two out of the three flames (Pyres) to light up. The activated ones will be enough to open the Dimensional Gateway. Go with whatever suits you best.

Heart Of The Pact

Among the three Pyres, it was Heart of The Pact that I unlocked most recently, although it appears as the initial one in the game’s list which you could pursue first. To acquire this one, you need to triumph in nine altered battles during your playthroughs, these being influenced by Trials.

In case you haven’t given Trials a shot, these are adjustable difficulty levels you can activate prior to each encounter during your gameplay. Each Trial comes with a specific hindrance to intensify the battle, and in return, you receive additional gold as a bonus.

As your journey progresses, challenges become more demanding. However, if your primary objective is to open the Dimensional Portal, the wisest course of action would be to repeatedly initiate runs at Covenant Zero difficulty, accept trials every time, and persevere until you emerge victorious in nine of them.

Attempting this could cause a few setbacks, however, it’s essential to experience these failures as they are the key to accessing the next Pyre down the line.

Or, more casually:

Give it a shot, but expect some stumbles along the way. It’s all part of the process for getting to the next Pyre.

Lifemother’s Pyre

The Life Mother’s Forge was the initial item I obtained in the game, and you can efficiently level it up quite rapidly if you don’t mind repeating a few playthroughs consecutively.

In essence, your goal here is to ensure that your Pyre sustains a cumulative damage of 475 over all the playthroughs. Alternatively, you can easily achieve this by starting and losing consecutive games, approximately five to six times in a row without any issues.

Wyngh’s Spirit

In simpler terms, the Spirit of Wyngh was the second additional Fire (Pyre) I managed to access on my own. The process of unlocking it is quite straightforward; all you have to do is make your game pieces (units) move a total of 275 times.

As you progress through Monster Train 2, you might find that certain actions inherently advance your game pieces – it’s a skill that develops organically with gameplay.

As a devoted admirer, I can tell you that activating Valor on my character will propel them to the forefront of the train. Employing a Steadfast Crusader’s Slam ability will once more advance them to the frontline. There are numerous other cards and artifacts at hand that can rearrange your units, too.

To expedite the unraveling of this puzzle, feel free to strategically move your game pieces whenever possible, even if it might disrupt your current progress.

Dimensional Challenges Explained

Once you open two fresh Pyres and view a brief conversation afterwards, you’ll gain access to the Dimensional Portal. Step inside to discover a multi-choice goal structure.

In this location, there’s an unfastened mission titled “Weapons Forge the Warrior.” Generally speaking, missions like these are… quite demanding. They serve as additional tasks if the primary game story seems too simple, or if you fancy a change of pace. However, be aware that easy triumphs won’t be common here.

In your endeavor, the specific challenge, along with the initial cards to kick off your effort, will be disclosed, as well as other mission particulars and conditions. With each new attempt at this challenge, the random cards you’re dealt may vary, so if you don’t succeed initially, you might receive more favorable cards in the next round that improve your chances of success.

For every challenge, there will be three fixed Mutators at play instead of randomly drawn cards. In your first challenge, these are the three Mutators you’ll encounter:

  • Enchanted Armory – Equipment cards cost 0 ember. Add 3 random Equipment cards to your starting deck.
  • Amplified Armaments – Attach and health benefits from equipment are doubled.
  • No Fluff – All cards have 1 fewer upgrade slot.

It’s important to note that not every Mutator is harmful; some can even be beneficial. For instance, Enchanted Armory and Amplified Armaments function exceptionally in your advantage when used together. On the other hand, No Fluff helps maintain balance by inflicting a definite disadvantage.

Rest assured, these Mutators will get more insane as you attempt future challenges.

Dimensional Challenge Rewards

You have three rewards to earn from completing Dimensional Challenges. Here’s how to get each one:

Reward How To Earn Description
Malicka’s Shifting Pyre Win One Dimensional Challenge A New Pyre For The Train
Rock ‘N Roll Heaven Win Ten Dimensional Challenges A Cosmetic Wall For Your Train
Pyre Crystal Mastery Frame Win All 21 Dimensional Challenges A New Frame For Card Customization

Regrettably, it’s just Malicka’s Shifting Pyre that serves a practical purpose within the game. The other two rewards have no functional impact, being purely aesthetic instead.

It’s pleasant that the valuable item is effortlessly attainable, yet on a personal level, I can’t help but yearn for the other items to hold value commensurate with their pursuit as well.

In the game, Malicka’s Shifting Pyre could potentially serve as your top choice if you unlock it straightaway following the acquisition of Dimensional Challenges. It might have a lower Attack Power (35) and Health Points (65) compared to other options, but the benefits from its unique perk make it a worthwhile trade-off.

During my gaming adventure, I found this amazing artifact called Pyre. It enhances every character I collect along the way, and let me tell you, I’ve discovered that most of these character enhancements are significant game-changers!

While it’s true that the enhanced devices may not always get upgraded exactly as you would prefer, remember, nothing beats a free upgrade!

Ensure that the Shifting Pyre under Malicka’s protection remains secure with your enhanced combat forces. This should alleviate concerns over the Pyre’s slightly reduced offensive and defensive capabilities to a considerable extent.
