Characters Killed by All For One in My Hero Academia

This list contains spoilers up until the end of the manga!

Summary

  • All For One’s ability to steal Quirks makes him a powerful threat, eliminating those who oppose him.
  • Characters like Stain, Gigantomachia, and Nana Shimura fell victim to All For One’s deadly actions.
  • All For One’s manipulation extends to tragic events in Shigaraki’s life, showcasing his sinister influence.

One striking feature that makes All For One truly chilling is his ruthless readiness to eliminate anyone who challenges him. His Quirk, also named All For One, grants him the ability to steal and amass a vast array of powers, making him incredibly formidable throughout the My Hero Academia storyline. In fact, he’s proven capable of pushing the legendary All Might to his very limits.

Once All For One has drained a person’s power from them, he often eliminates them completely to prevent any thoughts of retaliation. Consequently, many characters in the anime series My Hero Academia have met their untimely ends at the hands of this madman, including those unfortunate souls listed below. Keep in mind that this list may contain spoilers up until the end of the manga.

7. Stain

Ironically, The ‘Hero Killer’ Is Taken Down While Supporting The Best Hero In Japan

  • First Appeared: Episode 24

Even though Stain is missing for a significant part of the narrative following his capture, he dramatically reappears during the climactic war, delivering a powerful motivation speech to a dispirited All Might. Known as the ‘Hero Killer’, Stain holds All Might in high regard, regarding him as a genuine hero worthy of the title, so much so that he steps in to shield All Might from an impending attack by All For One.

In contrast to his formidable combat abilities, Stain proves unable to stand against All For One, who seizes his Omnimental Quirk and delivers a fatal blow to him. Sadly, Stain’s impact on the narrative was cut short, even though he left a significant imprint, it’s a pity that he didn’t linger in the story for a while longer.

6. Gigantomachia

All For One Decides To Put Down His Loyal Mutant Lapdog

  • First Appeared: Episode 31

In simpler terms, Gigantomachia – a massive, aggressive being – proves too difficult for the heroes to handle directly due to his immense strength. Since no hero is physically capable of overpowering him in hand-to-hand combat, they enlist Shinso’s help. He manipulates Gigantomachia by mimicking All For One’s voice using his Mind Control (Brainwash) ability.

Despite Gigantomachia’s valiant effort to buy time for the heroes’ strategy, it didn’t take long before he was split in two due to an immense burst of power from All For One. Though Gigantomachia wasn’t a match for the younger version of All For One, his role in the war was significant as he managed to keep his master occupied for as much time as possible.

5. Nana Shimura

All Might’s Mentor Failed To Take Down Society’s Biggest Villain

  • First Appeared: Episode 33

Since Nana has already passed away when the main narrative begins, we learn about her past as a bearer of One For All through flashbacks and information given by other characters. It becomes evident that Nana was incredibly powerful during her time, and despite her profession causing disruptions in her family life, she remained dedicated to protecting those in peril with her newly acquired One For All Quirk ability.

Similarly to past encounters, Nana was unable to defeat All For One; instead, he ended her life off-screen. However, as one of the Vestiges, Nana reappears in the main story as one of the entities that make up One For All. She assists Midoriya throughout his quest to vanquish Shigaraki and All For One.

4. The Vestiges

One For All’s Previous Users Became Big Thorns In The Side Of All For One

  • First Appeared: Episode 20

Anyone fortunate or unfortunately receiving One For All will instantly attract the attention of All For One, as these two Quirks have been diametrically opposed for decades. Despite many past users attempting to defeat All For One in battle, they all end up meeting their demise and are compelled to pass the power on to the next bearer.

Delighting in inflicting the most gruesome deaths on his arch-enemies, All For One once chose to impale Lee through the chest with a massive spike as a means of humiliation. Brave though they were in challenging All For One at the height of his power, the Vestiges ultimately failed to defeat him.

3. Star And Stripe

All For One Played A Big Part In Ending The Reign Of America’s Top Hero

  • First Appeared: Episode 138

Undeniably, it is Shigaraki who confronts Star and Stripe physically, but it’s important to note that he is currently under the sway of All For One, having fused with him following Garaki’s experiments. During this intense battle, Star and Stripe employs her New Order Quirk in creative ways to inflict damage, such as firing laser beams and vacuuming out sections of air.

In the long run, she unintentionally grew too attached, which eventually led to her being annihilated by the Decay Quirk. All For One, during one of his gatherings with other villains, stated that Star and Stripe was a critical figure they needed to neutralize. By enhancing Shigaraki with various Quirks, taking over some aspects of his body and mind, he successfully incapacitated America’s top hero before the war had even begun.

2. The Shigaraki Family

It Was All For One Who Secretly Gave Shigaraki The Quirk That Killed His Family

  • First Appeared: Episode 112

In the My Hero Academia arc, it isn’t until halfway through the story that Shigaraki’s sad past is unveiled. Contrary to his portrayal as an evil and twisted villain in the main narrative, Shigaraki used to harbor dreams of being a hero. Unfortunately, these aspirations were not shared by his abusive father who showed little interest in supporting him.

Shigaraki didn’t possess the Decay Quirk from birth; instead, All For One bestowed it upon him unknowingly just a few hours before a tragic incident where he unintentionally killed his entire family with this power. Essentially, All For One was the one who transformed the young boy into a potential time bomb, planning for him to harbor such intense hatred towards his loved ones due to their deaths, thereby making him a suitable candidate to become All For One’s apprentice in the future.

1. Yoichi Shigaraki

In His Quest For Power, All For One Decided To Kill His Own Brother

  • First Appeared: Episode 20

Yoichi, younger brother to All For One, had a strained relationship with his elder sibling. As All For One unveiled the true extent of his powers, he transformed into an under-the-radar warlord controlling Japan, operating from behind the scenes. In stark contrast, Yoichi frequently expressed doubts about his brother’s intentions and desired that he would employ his abilities for good rather than evil purposes.

After All For One successfully surrounds Yoichi and his small resistance team, he mercilessly eliminates every member of the group. Despite wanting to confide in Midoriya and the other survivors, it’s likely that growing up with such a ruthless brother put immense strain on Yoichi.
