The following article contains spoilers for My Hero Academia.
Since its debut, numerous exhilarating instances have unfolded within the world of My Hero Academia, yet the narrative reaches new heights of suspense when the pursuit of Tomura Shigaraki intensifies. During the Jaku General Hospital Raid Mission, Pro Heroes had a significant chance to apprehend him, but events unfolded unexpectedly.
In the world of “My Hero Academia,” this mission represents one of the biggest groups of Pro Heroes. Regrettably, it didn’t manage to accomplish its primary goal. Consequently, Shigaraki has grown stronger and more menacing, a force that our team was unable to contend with.
What Was The Main Objective of the Raid?
Based on its title, the Jaku Hospital Raid refers to a law enforcement action carried out at Jaku General Hospital. This operation was spearheaded by Detective Naomasa Tsukauchi and a group consisting of Pro Heroes and trainee heroes, all under the supervision of Endeavor. The raid formed part of a broader mission that also involved an incursion at Gunga Mountain Villa.
I’ve only been living for the boy’s sake… for Shigaraki.
— Kyudai Garaki/Daruma Ujiko
In my excitement, I found myself on a mission to nab none other than Tomura Shigaraki, elusively holed up in a lab within the hospital walls. But that wasn’t all! Kyudai Garaki, a key figure in the sinister League of Villains and disguised as an ordinary physician, held the title of chairman at Jaku General Hospital. Catching these two was the ultimate challenge for me!
Who Was Part of the Jaku Hospital Raid Team?
Tsukauchi and Endeavor gathered a substantial group of elite Pro Heroes to charge into Jaku General Hospital, generating much anticipation for this venture since it encompassed the second-ranking Hero in Japan. The local police were set to offer assistance, but the Heroes would spearhead the attack and shoulder most of the mission’s responsibilities.
37 Heroes and Trainees, among them Endeavor, united for this raid, making it one of the biggest alliances of Pro Heroes ever formed. Their objective was threefold: evacuating a hospital (the staff were taken aback by the sudden raid), defeating the Nomu, infiltrating the hidden laboratory where the Nomu were created, and capturing Shigaraki and other Villains’ allies, such as Dr. Garaki. To achieve their goal, the team was split into two main groups: the Assault Team (Raid Team) and the Evacuation Team.
The Raid Team was composed of:
- Endeavor (leader)
- Backdraft
- Crust
- Ectoplasm
- Eraser Head
- Gran Torino
- Kesagiri Man
- Kido
- Mandalay
- Manual
- Mirko
- Native
- Toy-Toy
- Thirteen
- Onima
- Pixie-Bob
- Present Mic
- Rock Lock
- Ryukyu
- Snipe
- Takeshita
- Tiger
- Uwabami
- Wash
- X-Less
On the other hand, the Evacuation Team included:
- Burnin
- Master Driller
- Nejire Chan
- Anima (Koda)
- Comicman (Fukidashi)
- Deku (Midoriya)
- Dynamight (Bakugo)
- Froppy (Asui)
- Ingenium (Tenya Iida)
- Shoto
- Uravity (Uraraka)
Why Did the Jaku Hospital Raid Fail?
The Pro Heroes managed to complete minor tasks like vanquishing the Nomu, but they couldn’t apprehend Tomura Shigaraki. Later, Dr. Garaki revived him, and the lab collapsed as a result of Shigaraki employing his Decay power. A couple of months back, Dr. Garaki had operated on Tomura, boosting his strength and bestowing upon him the All for One Quirk.
Given that Shigaraki was too powerful for them at that moment, it’s unlikely they could have done anything else differently under normal circumstances. With additional support, they might have fared better, but many Heroes were engaged in fighting against the Gunga Mountain Villain. Although they didn’t accomplish their primary goal, they did manage to destroy the lab instead.
