Tanjiro Vs. Akaza Will Be One Of The Major Highlights Of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle

He Won’t Be The Only One To Fight Against Akaza, Though

The ‘Demon Slayer Hashira Training’ storyline concluded with Tanjiro, Inosuke, Zenitsu, along with all other Hashiras, being called into the Infinite Castle. Kagaya Ubuyashiki made a selfless sacrifice, not only taking his own life but that of his entire family, in an attempt to deal a fatal blow to Muzan. Yet, it’s clear that eliminating the Demon King will require more than just this act. In fact, before they even come face-to-face with Muzan, Tanjiro and his companions must first overcome the Twelve Kizuki, who are strategically positioned within the Infinite Castle, ready to challenge humanity’s warriors.

It has been confirmed by Ufotable that the “Demon Slayer Infinity Castle” arc from the manga series is set to be divided into three movies. Each film will showcase various intense battles, with each clash promised to be extraordinary. The first movie could involve Zenitsu engaging in combat with a member of the Upper Rank Twelve, and we might witness Shinobu Kocho, the Insect Hashira, clashing with Doma. Nevertheless, fans are eagerly anticipating a specific battle that is expected to be the main attraction of the first film – it’s the highly anticipated showdown between Tanjiro and the Upper Rank Three, Akaza.

Tanjiro said, “Rengoku didn’t fail; he ensured no one perished. He battled tirelessly until the very end, safeguarding everyone till the last moment. In reality, it was you who lost. It was Rengoku who emerged victorious.

Although Tanjiro aims to eliminate every demon on Earth, he harbors a deep-seated hatred towards Akaza. This is because Akaza was the one who viciously slaughtered Rengoku in front of Tanjiro and his companions. Since then, Tanjiro has been relentlessly training to be powerful enough to avenge Rengoku. Remarkably, Tanjiro will soon get this chance as Akaza is among the first demons he’ll encounter upon entering the Infinity Castle.

It turns out that Tanjiro isn’t the sole contender for engaging Akaza in combat, since Giyu, the Water Hashira, is also set to join the fray. So far in the narrative, we haven’t witnessed Giyu at his best as a Water Hashira, so it promises to be quite intriguing to observe him against Upper Rank Three. Moreover, it was Giyu who granted Nezuko her life and motivated Tanjiro to join the Demon Slayer Corps. Essentially, Tanjiro and Giyu’s story arc will reach its climax as they unite to avenge the Hashira they both revered.

The Ultimate Opportunity For Tanjiro To Avenge Rengoku’s Death

The Young Hashira Will Finally Get Closure After The Mugen Train Incident

In the narrative, Akaza is portrayed as one of the most formidable demons, causing Tanjiro an initial sense of dread upon their first encounter. Had it not been for Rengoku’s intervention, Tanjiro would have been instantly slain by a single blow from Akaza. Luckily for Tanjiro, the Flame Hashira managed to shield him and even caught Akaza off guard with his unyielding spirit. Akaza was so taken aback by Rengoku that he wished for the Hashira to transform into a demon himself. However, Rengoku valued his human flaws and refused the offer.

Rengoku was powerful, yet not as mighty as Akaza. Unfortunately, Rengoku faced a tragic end, but found solace knowing that Tanjiro and the rest of humanity were safe. Contrastingly, Tanjiro was powerless to intervene when he saw Rengoku being killed. At the moment, Tanjiro was incapable of challenging Akaza due to his numerous injuries. However, the primary reason Tanjiro didn’t confront Akaza was that he couldn’t. Since then, Tanjiro has undergone rigorous training under the Hashiras and now possesses the strength to not only defeat Akaza but also battle the Demon King. The advantage is that Tanjiro won’t have to face the final fight solo; he will be joined by Inosuke, Zenitsu, and other Hashiras as they unite against Muzan and the Twelve Kizuki.
