As a dedicated gamer, I’m thrilled to share that on Tuesday, June 17, the next update for World of Warcraft, dubbed Patch 11.1.7 – Legacy of Arathor – will be live! Post maintenance, we’ll delve into an exciting new story campaign that unfolds uniquely from each faction’s perspective. Plus, there are some cool quality-of-life enhancements to make our gaming experience even smoother. Can’t wait to explore and enjoy the ride!
In the upcoming update for World of Warcraft, players will journey to the Arathi Highlands alongside characters such as Danath Trollbane, Geta’rah, and Faerin. Their mission is twofold: to quell remaining conflicts between the Alliance and the Horde, and address a mutual danger facing both factions. Additionally, this update introduces the Lorewalking feature, allowing players an exclusive look into the histories of Xal’atath, the main antagonist from The War Within, and the enigmatic Ethereals for the first time. Furthermore, players will have an opportunity to revisit the heart-wrenching tale of Arthas, the Lich King, once this update becomes available.
In addition to fresh storyline material, the update 11.1.7 for World of Warcraft is set to introduce some user-friendly improvements that players can take advantage of. As announced by Blizzard, the Combat Assistant and Single-Button Assistant features will offer new learning options for a new specialization or make character management slightly more straightforward. The Combat Assistant will display suggested abilities on the interface, much like the widely-used add-on Hekili. On the other hand, the Single-Button Assistant will have a longer global cooldown (GCD) than the standard 1.5 seconds GCD as a compromise.
World of Warcraft Patch 11.1.7 Goes Live On June 17
- World of Warcraft’s Legacy of Arathor update will add a new Arathi Highlands story campaign.
- Battle for Azeroth Timewalking will begin along with the next iteration of the Turbulent Timeways.
- Lorewalking will offer players a way to experience the backstories of characters like Xal’atath and Arthas.
- The Greedy Emissary returns on July 1, two weeks after Patch 11.1.7 goes live.
Just like the Cooldown Tracker added in Patch 11.1.5, the Combat Assistant and One-Click Assistant serve as extra tools for World of Warcraft players within the base game itself, without requiring any additional add-ons to be downloaded. These features can be easily enabled or disabled via the game’s settings.
In the Arathor Legacy update, players will encounter the Battle for Azeroth Timewalking feature and the reemergence of the Turbulent Timeways event, which allows characters to swiftly level up and gear up more efficiently. The upcoming version of Turbulent Timeways in World of Warcraft will last for six weeks, and adventurers who dare to delve into dungeons from the game’s past have a chance to claim the Chrono Corsair mount as their reward.
Approximately three weeks following the release of Patch 11.1.7, the Greedy Emissary crossover event in tandem with Diablo 4 will resurface on July 1st. This occasion offers players a chance to acquire fresh class-specific cosmetic armor sets. Despite Legacy of Arathor being categorized as a minor update, World of Warcraft enthusiasts will find themselves occupied once June 17th rolls around.
