In the second season of “Daredevil: Born Again”, the return of our superhero is imminent, but with an unexpected turn – a different character will be stepping into the role this time around.

As a die-hard film fan, I’m thrilled about the upcoming continuation of the Netflix’s Daredevil saga, titled “Daredevil: Born Again.” This series brings back Charlie Cox reprising his iconic role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil. Alongside him are familiar faces like Vincent D’Onofrio (Wilson Fisk/Kingpin), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Franklin ‘Foggy’ Nelson), Wilson Bethel (Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter/Bullseye) and Jon Bernthal (Frank Castle/Punisher). A fresh character was introduced in the Disney Plus series that kicked off earlier this year, and they’ll be back for Season 2 to carry on the legacy of another superhero.

In February 2025, the filming of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 commenced. The cast has been spotted in New York City during the production of this eagerly awaited season. User @RayyanTCG, a writer for The Cine Geek, recently posted a set photo showcasing Camila Rodriguez as the new White Tiger. Rodriguez portrays Angela del Toro in Born Again. She is the niece of Hector Ayala, who was previously known as the White Tiger and played by Kamar de los Reyes. Tragically, Hector was killed by Sgt. Cole North (Jeremy Earl) at the end of Season 1. Hector was falsely accused of murdering Kel Shanahan after their altercation led to his death. Matt Murdock defended Hector in court, and he was acquitted; however, North couldn’t accept this verdict and took matters into his own hands by killing Hector. After Hector’s demise, Angela inherited the Tiger Amulets, which granted him enhanced abilities. Given these circumstances, it’s fitting that she takes on the role of the new White Tiger in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.

Fans expressed joy at the return of White Tiger in Season 2. Yet, they felt let down by Rodriguez’s costume, finding it rather plain. In the picture, she is donned in a white hoodie, black vest, and matching black pants. A black and white scarf conceals her face. Some fans speculate that this might not be her permanent costume, instead, a temporary one to hide from Fisk, as suggested by others. Despite the widespread disapproval of Rodriguez’s White Tiger costume, many are excited about her role in continuing the character’s legacy in Season 2.

It’s no shock that Angela, who inherited the amulets that once empowered her uncle to become a superhero, has taken on this role. In Marvel Comics, the White Tiger character is known for having multiple personas, with Angela being one of them. Historically, in Marvel lore, the White Tiger identity is passed down through generations. So, Angela stepping into this role can be seen as passing the torch, and her decision to do so isn’t only about revenge but also about upholding a legacy and evolving. Her storyline in Daredevil: Born Again closely resembles her comic book origins because it is deeply personal, grounded in legacy, and morally complex.

From the leaked photo, it seems that Rodriguez’s attire isn’t her true White Tiger costume. Instead, she’s dressed casually – a hoodie, pants, a vest with a white scarf adorned with black stripes concealing her face, and protective knee and elbow pads. Whether she’s biking in the scene or not remains uncertain. In contrast, Angela’s White Tiger from the comics typically dons a white suit with black accents outlining gloves, boots, and featuring tiger stripes on arms, chest, and legs. Her suit also includes a white mask with black detailing for anonymity, emphasizing her feline, stealthy image. Rodriguez’s White Tiger costume appears to be more tactical and modern than Hector’s in the comics, incorporating contemporary elements and sharper contrasts. This reflects Angela’s background as a former FBI agent. Consequently, it’s possible that fans haven’t yet seen Rodriguez in her authentic White Tiger outfit.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is expected to premiere on Amazon in March 2026.
