In the realm of PC gaming, the perfect assortment of accessories can significantly enhance your experience. For certain gamers, it’s essential to have a high-DPI mouse or mechanical keyboard that provides tactile feedback for pinpoint precision. On the other hand, comfort during prolonged gaming sessions is crucial for some, and an ergonomic design or wireless setup often proves beneficial. Nevertheless, regardless of individual tastes, certain accessories excel as versatile hardware suitable for a wide range of setups. The MSI Versa Pro Wireless mouse belongs to this category.
The new Versa Pro Wireless Mouse from MSI, unveiled on May 27, is a mid-weight ergonomic gaming mouse. Although it doesn’t revolutionize the concept of a gaming mouse, it aims to enhance it significantly. This mouse boasts a robust sensor and connectivity, dependable optical switches, impressive battery life, and a comfortable design that sets it apart as one of the top contenders in the market today. The launch reinforces MSI’s standing as a leading innovator in gaming peripherals and accessories.
It Doesn’t Get Much Better Than the Versa Pro Wireless
The Versa Pro Wireless Looks and Feels Great
The Versa Pro Wireless leaves a strong first impression even before you turn it on or connect it, thanks to its premium build and comfortable design straight out of the box. Its top-tier materials ensure durability that not every gaming mouse can match. Unlike lightweight mice, midweight mice like the Versa Pro Wireless offer the best of both worlds – they’re light enough for smooth gliding on the mouse pad but heavy enough to provide a solid feel in your hand. The Versa Pro Wireless weighs 97g, striking an ideal balance when it comes to weight.
The Versa Pro Wireless doesn’t sacrifice style for being a midweight gaming mouse. Unlike many heavier gaming mice that tend to appear bulky and boxy, this one retains an element of sleekness and slenderness typical of lighter mice. It boasts the structure of a heftier gaming mouse yet manages to keep some elegance. Additionally, customizable RGB lighting illuminates the ergonomic textured grips on both sides, the scroll wheel, and the MSI logo on its body.
It seems that the adjustable RGB illumination wasn’t consistently reliable, as it failed to launch automatically and instead required manual control through the MSI Center software. However, it remains uncertain if this problem stemmed from the mouse hardware itself or originated from the MSI Center application.
The Versa Pro Wireless Is Versatile, Efficient, and Highly Customizable
The Versa Pro Wireless mouse stands out as a versatile option for various gamers due to its highly adjustable design. It boasts 13 programmable buttons, a feature not commonly found among premium gaming mice. These buttons are strategically placed to minimize strain, allowing users who customize their settings to enjoy the experience without fatigue even during extended gaming sessions. With MSI Center software, you can personalize each button on the mouse, control its RGB lighting, adjust DPI settings, and more.
Regarding the adjustable sensitivity of the Versa Pro Wireless mouse, it’s capable of reaching a high DPI value, even exceeding 26,000 DPI when personalized using the MSI Center software. Users are allowed to store five distinct DPI settings in the MSI Center, which they can effortlessly switch between by pressing the DPI button located at the base of the mouse.
Moreover, on the underside of the mouse, you’ll find a switch that allows toggling between the Versa Pro Wireless’ three connectivity modes: Bluetooth, wireless, and an off mode. The scroll wheel offers infinite scrolling functionality which can be activated using the button positioned beneath it, and it’s designed to move left and right as well.
The Versa Pro Wireless Mouse offers impressive battery life; approximately 80 hours when the RGB lighting is turned off. However, even with RGB illumination active, it can still manage about half of that duration. This makes it one of the top gaming mice on the market regarding battery endurance. It’s also swiftly chargeable, taking minimal time to power up, and the supplied flexible charging cable allows for continuous use during charging without any inconvenience. Additionally, it boasts a quiet operation with click sounds that provide sufficient feedback yet are not so loud as to become tiresome during extended gaming sessions, thereby reducing accidental presses while ensuring responsiveness.
In active gaming scenarios, I found the Versa Pro Wireless mouse to be outstanding. As a dedicated player of Destiny 2, I’ve always opted for mouse and keyboard over controllers. Over extended play sessions, this wireless mouse never faltered – it consistently demonstrated speed, accuracy, and comfort that left me more than satisfied with my choice. The level of comfort it offers is hard to put into words – its perfect fit in the palm of the hand, combined with its gently textured sides and wheel, make it effortless to maintain a firm grip on.
The Versa Pro Wireless demonstrated no problems with connectivity, regardless if it was operating wirelessly or via Bluetooth.
Without a doubt, the MSI Versa Pro Wireless mouse stands out as an impressive device, offering a harmonious blend of style and functionality that caters to most gamers. It may not bring groundbreaking innovations, but it enhances almost every aspect of what constitutes an excellent gaming mouse, resulting in a streamlined, ergonomic accessory that is definitely worth the investment. With impressive battery life, seamless connectivity, numerous customization options, and a design that feels comfortable in your hand, this gaming mouse makes it challenging to return to conventional models.
At present, you can buy the Versa Pro Wireless mouse directly from MSI’s official site at a price of $109.99. For this review, Game Rant received the mouse as part of our product evaluation.
