The mountain peak serves as the second significant geographical change, or “Shifting Earth Event”, that players will delve into following some Expeditions. Akin to the mountains in Elden Ring, this locale is a snow-capped upland teeming with Snowfield Trolls and Demi-Humans.
While ascending the treacherous heights with the ultimate goal in sight, players might face numerous diversions that could lead them astray, making it difficult for them to seize the reward before it’s too late. This walkthrough provides insights on how players can conquer Mountaintop in Elden Ring Nightreign and describes the challenges they’ll face along the way, including encounters with diverse Dragons.
How to Find the Secret of the Mountaintop In Elden Ring Nightreign
The mountain is situated in the northwestern region of the map. At the foot of this mountain lies a Spiritspring, which propels you to the snowy plateaus atop it. As an alternative, if your Night 1 circle concludes at the southernmost point on the map, consider utilizing a Spectral Hawk to transport you to the Frozen Ruins. Here, you may encounter several Ancient Heroes of Zamur or Albinauric Archers.
An alternative route to reach the Mountaintop isn’t limited to Spiritspring; instead, traverse the eastern chain to encounter the Troll, a formidable adversary that carries a Dormant Power as its reward. Once you’ve handled the Troll, you can swiftly handle the camp ahead or opt for the northern path where several Demi-Humans await your challenge.
As you edge nearer to the abyss, you’ll encounter a Flying Dragon engaged in combat with a Snowfield Troll. You have the opportunity to aid either boss in defeating the other, then proceed to gather the Runes and Dormant Power before continuing your journey northward. Maintain proximity to the wall on your left to encounter several enemies, who are accompanied by a Demi-Human Swordmaster. This formidable adversary requires a substantial amount of damage and stagger, so you should be able to quickly overcome it. After that, you can ascend the wall in the southwest direction to reach the Mountaintop Ice Dragon.
Path From The Mountaintop Ice Dragon
As you draw near to the lair of the Mountaintop Ice Dragon, a frosty breeze might brush against you, causing potential Frostbite. You can engage in combat with the Dragon, but it’s advisable to bypass him for now and return once you have obtained the blessing. Look towards the south to find a wall that offers a climbable route. There should be another such wall on the east, and upon reaching the summit, look east to spot the Blessing emitting a soft glow in the distance. Interacting with the Blessing reduces the damage and buildup of Frostbite, and boosts your attack if Frostbite activates in close proximity.
Using the blessing you have, disregard the current whereabouts of the dragon, for it is moving north-eastward instead.
To get there, go over the bridge and then veer right once you’ve passed the Monstrous Dogs. Once you’ve defeated the Dragon, continue straight towards the final circle. You may encounter Snowfield Trolls on your left for some additional Runes before engaging with Night 2 Boss.
