There Will Be No Summer 2025 Ubisoft Forward

This year’s summer gaming event season is back, but you might have observed that a significant game publisher seems to be conspicuously silent.

Instead of organizing their annual Ubisoft Forward Summer events, similar to those initiated after the closure of E3 in 2020, it appears that Ubisoft is opting out for this upcoming year.

According to Stephen Totilo from Game File, who received this information directly from Ubisoft, they won’t be holding their own event, but instead, they plan to take part in IGN Live from June 7th to 8th and the PC Gaming Show on the 8th of June. Furthermore, they also intend to participate in Gamescom scheduled for August.

A representative from Ubisoft shared that they’re constantly excited about connecting with their game enthusiasts and presenting their creations. They’re actively seeking ways to keep the community updated, and they eagerly anticipate revealing more details in due time.

What Does This Mean For Ubisoft?

It’s understandable that Ubisoft won’t be organizing their own event this summer, given the relatively small number of titles they have coming up. Instead, they plan to unveil any new releases during other events as they become available.

Given their current financial struggles and recent company reorganization, it’s understandable that they might choose to focus on other projects, despite the remarkable achievement of Assassin’s Creed: Shadow.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that Ubisoft has postponed some of their upcoming games to provide extra development time following the acclaimed success of Assassin’s Creed: Shadow. This could potentially explain the delay in this case too.

Opting to remain relatively low-key is a conscious decision, and it seems wiser to do so when there isn’t much new information to share. Instead of a full livestream showcasing only a handful of games, or unveiling games that are still in early development without set release dates, this approach would be more beneficial for viewers, as it avoids unnecessary hype and ensures they receive the most up-to-date information possible.

Despite this, we certainly won’t find ourselves lacking things to watch in the coming days, as today is State of Play, Summer Game Fest with Geoff Keighley on Friday, and many more events scheduled over the weekend and next week. In other words, there will be no scarcity of reveals to keep up with.
