This patch is brimming with exciting content for World of Warcraft players!
Currently, Blizzard Entertainment is offering fans a deeper insight into the Lorewalker feature in World of Warcraft. This adventure commences at Lorewalker Cho, whose locations in Stormwind, Orgrimmar, and Dornogal are now identified by a distinctive map icon shaped like a book. Once players select one of the three initial tales – Xal’atath, Ethereals, or the Lich King – they embark on an exclusive, customized questing journey within World of Warcraft. This includes both established and original quests and scenarios. The Lorewalker experience also features two unique UI components: a Question button that allows fans to gain additional information about key story aspects from Cho, and a Pause option, so players can temporarily halt their adventure to engage in other content without losing progress unless they start a new Lorewalking narrative.
WoW Patch 11.1.7 Lorewalking Storylines and Rewards
- Xal’atath – Echo of Xal’atath, Blade of the Black Empire: Call upon your memory of Xal’atath. Her voice will occasionally echo with glee when you kill a foe.
- Ethereals – K’aresh Memory Crystal: Take on the appearance of a K’areshi.
- The Lich King – Royal Visage: Remember the tale of Arthas Menethil. You take on his visage. “Prince… or King?”
Each tale can be retold numerous times to gain extra gold and levels, but followers receive unique items for the first completion of each one. The Ethereal questline rewards the K’aresh Memory Crystal, while the Lich King story provides the Royal Visage; both momentarily alter the character into an Ethereal or Arthas respectively. Exploring Xal’atath’s tale within World of Warcraft grants the Echo of Xal’atath, Blade of the Black Empire, which bestows a buff enabling characters of all classes to hear the Harbinger’s periodic commentary that Priests typically receive when using or transforming the Legion artifact.
Indications point towards World of Warcraft possibly developing additional Lorewalking tales. A fourth Lorewalking storyline concerning the Blood Elves was discovered from the Public Test Realm’s dialogue – a narrative that could serve as an introduction to the Midnight expansion in Quel’thalas. Although Blizzard hasn’t confirmed any more stories, their enthusiasm for this new questing structure suggests it may not be the only one we’ll encounter in upcoming updates.
