Summary

  • CD Projekt Red announces Patch 2.3 for Cyberpunk 2077.
  • The update will be released on June 26, with more details arriving later this month.
  • Previous rumors and theories suggest Virtuos has once again assisted in the development of the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 update.

CD Projekt Red has unveiled another upgrade for “Cyberpunk 2077”. This announcement was made during a live broadcast for the debut of “Cyberpunk 2077” on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Towards the end of this stream, CD Projekt Red hinted that patch 2.3 is scheduled to drop on June 26, with further details set to be shared before the update’s official launch.

Given that CD Projekt Red is currently engaged in several projects like “The Witcher 4” and the upcoming sequel to “Cyberpunk 2077,” many fans assumed that additional content for the 2020 RPG was no longer forthcoming. However, contrary to these expectations, the popular RPG game continues to get new updates. Although minor fixes have been made this year, the last significant update, patch 2.2, was rolled out in December 2024. This surprise update introduced new car customization features, a unique “Balatro” quest, and other enhancements.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 Arriving This Month

Just a few days ago, it seemed like eagle-eyed fans had stumbled upon hints about an upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 update. Well, during CD Projekt Red’s latest livestream, those whispers of an update turned out to be true! Exactly one hour into today’s broadcast, they confirmed that the next chapter for Cyberpunk 2077 will drop on June 26. Alicja Kozera, CD Projekt Red’s senior community manager, playfully teased, “The last one wasn’t the last one!” She then announced that another livestream would be held at the end of the month, where we can learn more about what exciting features patch 2.3 will bring.

It’s still uncertain, but there might be involvement from Virtuos in the upcoming update for Cyberpunk 2077. They had previously collaborated with CD Projekt Red for the game’s significant December update, focusing on UI enhancements. Moreover, fans have found hints that imply Virtuos could be aiding in the development of another Cyberpunk 2077 DLC. Although this upcoming patch won’t match the grandeur of the critically acclaimed Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077, it’s plausible that Virtuos has been creating additional quests for the update. For now, we just have to be patient for a few more weeks to learn what CD Projekt Red is preparing for the surprise patch.

Although work on the follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077 has only started during its pre-production, a tech demo for The Witcher 4 indicates that progress on this eagerly awaited sequel is more advanced. Fans can expect the release to be several years down the line, but the tech demo offers a glimpse into what’s to come. The captivating footage unveiled a new mountainous region of Kovir, wearable cloaks, an interactive world that responds to players, and much more.
