RUMOR: Fallout Star Cast in Major Role for Upcoming Street Fighter Film

Summary

  • Walton Goggins is reportedly close to signing as M. Bison, the dictator, in the upcoming Street Fighter movie.
  • Other rumored castings include Orville Peck as Vega and Eric André as the windbag announcer.
  • Jeff Sneider’s report should be taken with a grain of salt, but Goggins’ potential portrayal of M. Bison is highly anticipated.

It seems another popular actor from Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Fallout’ series is said to have joined the cast of ‘Street Fighter’.

Back in April 2023, Capcom sold the film and TV rights for the Street Fighter series to Legendary Entertainment. Subsequently, they announced a fresh live-action interpretation of the franchise. At first, directors Danny and Michael Philippou were set to lead the project, but they parted ways with it in June 2024. In February 2025, Kitao Sakurai was brought on board as the new director, and since then, various actors have been linked to the production. Although no official casting decisions have been made yet, an inside source has added another name to the list of potential cast members.

In his latest edition of The InSneider newsletter, entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider hinted that Walton Goggins may soon sign a contract to play a significant role in the upcoming Street Fighter film. Rumors suggest that Goggins could be tapped to portray M. Bison, the primary villain in this movie. Known for his ruthless dictatorship, warlord tendencies, and insatiable thirst for power, M. Bison is infamous for manipulating events to achieve his goals, often through mind control and tournaments. His character embodies corruption, misuse of authority, and exploitation to get whatever he desires, frequently butting heads with Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, and Charlie Nash. Notably, Raúl Juliá portrayed M. Bison in the 1994 Street Fighter film, which also starred Jean-Claude Van Damme, Kylie Minogue, Damian Chapa, Byron Mann, Ming-Na Wen, and Andrew Bryniarski.

Beyond the speculation about Goggins’ role, Sneider additionally suggested that Orville Peck might be discussing a part as Vega, while Eric André could potentially play the role of the chatty commentator. This casting choice isn’t surprising since André previously collaborated with Sakurai in Netflix’s comedy “Bad Trip”. Sneider also mentioned Roman Reigns and Noah Centineo, who were among several names suggested for this project last month. According to Deadline sources, Centineo, Reigns, Jason Momoa, and Andrew Koji are being considered for the film. However, no details have been disclosed about the roles these actors might play in the martial arts movie. Sneider specifically claimed that Centineo would likely portray Ken Masters, Ryu’s rival, while Reigns will reportedly take on the role of Akuma, Gouken’s younger brother. No information was given regarding Momoa and Koji’s roles in the film.

1. Sneider’s findings aren’t formal, so they should be viewed with caution. But, it’s thrilling to learn that Goggins might portray the main antagonist in the Street Fighter film. If cast, Goggins could add depth and complexity to the character of Bison, transforming him into a captivating, cult-like leader who is both terrifying and charismatic. Given his versatile acting skills, demonstrated in roles like Boyd Crowder on Justified and Ghoul in Fallout, he seems tailor-made for this role.

2. We’re pleased about the rumored casting of Centineo as Ken Masters. However, there’s no confirmed release date for Street Fighter, as Sony has taken it off their theatrical schedule. Originally scheduled for a March 20, 2026 release, its future remains uncertain.
