How Long to Beat Mario Kart World

Every console deserves a strong launch game or two, and that’s what Mario Kart World serves as for the Nintendo Switch 2. Although the fundamental gameplay of Mario Kart has remained consistent since its introduction on the Super Nintendo, Mario Kart World introduces an open-world aspect for the very first time through its free roam mode.

Among all the collectibles, missions, and multiplayer racing tracks in the newest installment of the Mario Kart series, there’s plenty to keep you busy. However, if you’re curious about how much time it takes to complete the entire game and see the end credits, that’s the question we’ll address here.

Spoilers below, proceed with caution.

How Long to Beat Mario Kart World

As a dedicated Mario Kart World gamer, I’ve got my eyes set on conquering every single cup hidden within this epic racing game. There are eight cups in total that can be tackled in Grand Prix mode, with the final eighth cup becoming accessible only after I’ve managed to triumph over the other seven first. Here’s a breakdown of how long it took me to finish each cup, as the duration for each race can range from about 2.5 to 3.5 minutes. However, the exact time may fluctuate based on the course difficulty (CC) you choose to play on.

Cup Time
Mushroom Cup 13 minutes
Flower Cup 12 minutes, 30 seconds
Star Cup 12 minutes, 39 seconds
Shell Cup 12 minutes
Banana Cup 11 minutes, 36 seconds
Leaf Cup 15 minutes, 45 seconds
Lightning Cup 11 minutes, 55 seconds
Special Cup 17 minutes, 30 seconds

In my gaming adventure through Mario Kart World, it took me a total of one hour, forty-six minutes, and fifty-five seconds to conquer all the cups. Keep in mind that the time it takes for you to complete this game can vary depending on your skill level and if you decide to replay a cup to achieve three stars. So, you might find yourself spending anywhere from about two hours to over three hours finishing Mario Kart World.

Keep in mind that achieving three stars on every cup, completing all missions, unlocking each character, and finding every Peach Medallion in the free roam mode of Mario Kart World isn’t included in a standard playthrough. Consequently, if you aim for a complete game experience, Mario Kart World will require a considerable amount of your time as you hunt down all its hidden treasures within the free roam mode. If you are the type who enjoys thoroughly exploring games, Mario Kart World will keep you occupied for quite some time.
