This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.
Summary
- Luffy and Straw Hats are now a Yonko crew, having taken on and defeated Kaido and his officers in Wano.
- Every member of the crew survived Imu’s Conqueror’s Haki blast, showing their growth in power.
- Oda confirmed that every Straw Hat is now above the level of the average Marine Vice Admiral, deserving bounties greater than 500 million berries.
The tension in the Elbaf arc of One Piece grows with each new chapter, drawing ever closer to its dramatic conclusion. Readers are well aware that this storyline revolves around shielding the Giants of Elbaf and their homeland from the menacing grasp of the World Government, who covet the land and aim to seize it by military force, converting the Giants into a forced army for their own purposes.
Absolutely, the Straw Hat Pirates, led by Luffy, won’t let this pass, given their current peak strength. Over the past two years, they’ve put in immense effort to reach where they are today, and now, it’s been confirmed that as a Yonko crew, they’ve grown even stronger in the storyline.
The Straw Hats Are A Yonko Crew In One Piece
- Luffy Beat Kaido in Wano
- His Officers Beat Many Beast Pirates Officers
From an outside perspective, I’ve noticed that the Straw Hat Pirates have officially claimed their place among the Yonko crews within the captivating world of One Piece. Their ascent to this rank comes following the dramatic conclusion of the war in Wano. In this epic tale, Luffy and his crew valiantly fought against Kaido’s Beast Pirates and emerged victorious. It was none other than Luffy who dealt the decisive blow to Kaido, a pivotal moment that significantly influenced the narrative’s progression. Alongside Luffy, the rest of the Straw Hats also demonstrated their unwavering courage and strength in the Wano War, achieving feats worthy of legend.

In the Wano arc, for example, Zoro triumphed over King, Sanji gave an outstanding display against Queen, Jinbe annihilated Who’s Who, Robin overpowered Black Maria, and Brook vanquished both Black Maria’s Gifters and Numbers. Franky’s battle against Sasaki is also worth remembering. Though Nami and Usopp didn’t perform as well in Wano initially, they significantly improved during the arc, and now it seems that Oda has hinted that every member of the Straw Hat crew has grown stronger too.
Oda Confirms The Straw Hats Have Grown Stronger As A Yonko Crew Through Imu
In the aftermath of the Wano Country saga, the Straw Hat Pirates have encountered fewer battles, but they continue to gain strength. With each new storyline, these pirates become more formidable, a fact even the author himself has affirmed recently. In “One Piece” chapter 1149, Imu made his appearance in the Warland Elbaf, and he did so by seizing control of Gunko. This development is crucial as it positions them as the primary adversaries for this arc. As soon as they arrived, Imu demonstrated his power with a potent burst of Conqueror’s Haki, expressing hostility towards everyone on Elbaf and knocking several individuals unconscious.

Conqueror’s Haki Knocks Out Based On Strength Difference
Fans are aware that Conqueror’s Haki works by knocking out individuals according to the disparity in their strength levels. The larger the gap in power, the more likely it is for someone to be knocked unconscious.
Question: Given that Luffy’s Haoshoku Haki could influence approximately 50,000 men, can we estimate how many enemies Captain Shanks and his associates could subdue?
If Luffy can control around 50,000 individuals using his Haoshoku Haki, what number of opponents would it be reasonable to assume that Captain Shanks and his comrades might defeat?
In the very same scenario where Luffy, Shanks, or Rayleigh found themselves, they might have been powerful enough to subdue all 100,000. However, in different circumstances, it isn’t fair to make comparisons based solely on numbers of people. The ability to knock an opponent unconscious with Haki hinges entirely upon possessing a significant power advantage. In Luffy’s case, the implication is that there were so many relatively strong-willed pirates before him that he might not have been able to subdue even one.
Despite Imu’s Conqueror’s Haki attack potentially incapacitating some members of the Straw Hat Pirates, every one of them miraculously endured. Interestingly, even powerful Giants were seen falling unconscious after the same attack in the following chapter.
In addition, it appears that Imu’s Haki is similar to Joy Boy, as both possess the same strength level and Joy Boy was able to knock out Vice Admirals in Egghead. This implies that each member of the Straw Hat Pirates now surpasses the standard Marine Vice Admiral rank. Therefore, considering the Cross Guild values a Vice Admiral at 5 Stars, it can be reasonably assumed that every Straw Hat pirate deserves a bounty exceeding 500 million berries.
