Summary

  • Mouse: P.I. for Hire added Troy Baker to its cast.
  • The famous actor will voice the game’s protagonist, private detective Jack Pepper.
  • The noir first-person shooter is coming to PC and consoles later in 2025, but is still waiting for a release date.

In the latest update, it’s Troy Baker who will lend his voice to Jack Pepper, the main character in Mouse: P.I. for Hire. This revelation comes alongside the game’s fresh trailer, which made its debut at Summer Game Fest 2025.

The game titled “Mouse: P.I. for Hire” was created by Polish studio Fumi Games, and it’s a first-person shooter that draws inspiration from the visual style of the 1930s Mickey Mouse cartoons. Initially hinted at under the temporary title “Mouse“, the game was officially named and unveiled with its first gameplay trailer in August 2024.

During Summer Game Fest 2025, Fumi Games and PlaySide Studios unveiled the newest trailer for “Mouse: P.I. for Hire”. This trailer announced that Troy Baker would be voicing the main character, private investigator Jack Pepper. In a style reminiscent of film noir, the narrative of the upcoming game begins with a distressed woman, leading Pepper to track down some of Mouseburg’s shadiest residents.

Mouse: P.I. for Hire SGF 2025 Trailer

In contrast to its tough-guy detective narrative, the game Mouse: P.I. for Hire is expected to play out like a more conventional first-person shooter. The game offers an array of comically armed tools and enhancements, which can be blended to eliminate foes in a multitude of amusing ways. The game’s 1930s animation influences stretch beyond the visuals, with it also including a jazz soundtrack reminiscent of that era, lending a nostalgic retro feel.

Troy Baker Will Star in At Least Three 2025 Video Games

As a passionate fan, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news about Troy Baker! He’s set to embark on three new adventures in gaming land: “Mouse: P.I. for Hire” is his third confirmed project slated for a 2025 release. You might also recognize him as the vocal powerhouse behind gym enthusiast Kristof in the eagerly anticipated dating simulator, “Date Everything“, hitting shelves on June 17th.

But that’s not all! Baker is set to reprise his role as Higgs Monaghan in Hideo Kojima’s highly anticipated sequel, “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach“, which is scheduled for launch on June 26th.

While we don’t have a specific release date for “Mouse: P.I. for Hire“, if the project stays on course for its original 2025 launch window, we might get to hear more about it by late summer or early fall!

As a gamer, I’m excitedly anticipating the launch of “Mouse: P.I. for Hire,” which is currently being developed for the Nintendo Switch 2, original Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and next-gen Xbox Series X/S, as well as PC. This will be Fumi Games’ inaugural title, marking their entry into the gaming world. Simultaneously, the creative minds at Fumi are also working on “Galaxi Taxi,” a vibrant shoot-em-up that boasts thrilling boss battles and an intricate vehicle customization system. Similar to “Mouse: P.I. for Hire,” the release date for “Galaxi Taxi” remains unannounced, and there’s no word yet on pricing for either of Fumi Games’ upcoming releases.
