Given the stature of these groups, it was only natural that such a gathering would lead to a significant event. The Rocks Pirates were drawn to God Valley in search of the riches belonging to the Celestial Dragons. News about the valuable prizes was leaked by Ginny, which sparked curiosity among pirates worldwide.

The Rocks Pirate gang was eager to boost their power, and consuming high-grade Devil Fruits seemed the most straightforward method. Big Mom, a member of their crew, managed to obtain one first, but she could only secure the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, which eventually ended up with Kaido. The word about the Rocks Pirates’ arrival spread rapidly, yet it failed to catch Monkey D. Garp’s notice. In reality, Garp chose not to intervene until Kong informed him that Roger was on the island.

Initially, I intended to confront Roger in God Valley for a fight, but fate had other plans butting me against my arch-nemesis, Rocks D. Xebec. In all my years, I never imagined that I’d be joining forces with my greatest adversary to bring down Rocks. My temporary alliance with Roger was solely focused on ending Rocks’ tyranny; once the mission was complete, our partnership came to an end.

Upon the downfall of the Rocks Pirates, my eyes witnessed a surge in renown for Garp, reaching every corner of the globe. The World Government cleverly veiled Roger’s participation, casting Garp as the undisputed hero of that incident. While Garp truly deserved applause for his valiant acts, there existed another individual whose deeds remained unacknowledged.

He mustered his strength to break free from his confinement and came close to escaping the island. Sadly, Kuma was brutally attacked by other enslaved individuals who feared for their lives. The Celestial Dragons deceived them, leading them to believe that they could live if Kuma were returned.

Although Ivankov and Ginny informed them that nobody made it out alive from the Hunting Competition, Ivankov remained optimistic about their chance of escaping the island. In an attempt to increase their survival odds, Ivankov believed they needed the Devil Fruits. Kuma agreed with this plan and accompanied Ivankov in search of the Devil Fruits. After a period of searching, they stumbled upon the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi and Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu. Ivankov seized the Uo Uo no Mi, while Kuma claimed the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi.

As Ivankov was on the brink of consuming the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi, Big Mom intercepted and seized it from his grip. Worried that she might swipe the fruit too, Ivankov instructed Kuma to bolt and devour it instead. Gratifying Ivankov’s request, Kuma gobbled up the Devil Fruit and acquired its powers. With the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi, Kuma managed to rescue over 500 souls who were under threat at God Valley. Had he not utilized his newly-gained strength, these individuals would have most likely fallen victim to the Celestial Dragons’ whims. It’s a shame that the truth about Kuma and his heroic act of saving countless lives will remain unknown to many within the One Piece world.
