The expansion for “Lies of P: Overture” builds upon the highly praised Soulslike game, offering approximately 20 more hours of gameplay. Unlike most DLCs, but similar to games from FromSoftware, this expansion isn’t accessible directly from the main menu. Instead, players must progress far enough in the main game before they can access it.

Apart from introducing a fresh narrative, Overture offers an abundance of novel weapons, Legion Arms, characters (NPCs), and stages to delve into. Just like me, if you can’t wait to dive into this expansion pack, you’ll want to do it as soon as possible.

In this tutorial, you will discover the steps for unlocking the additional content of Overture. Additionally, I will share my strategies for navigating to the appropriate section swiftly.

How to Start Overture DLC in Lies of P

To unlock the Overture DLC in Lies of P, players need to advance and finish Chapter 9 of the main game. Upon wrapping up the final act of Chapter 9, a new item will show up in their inventory titled “Star’s Chrysalis.

As soon as I acquire this item, a message will pop up on my screen letting me know that Overture is ready to play! To officially begin my adventure with Overture, I’ll need to transport myself to the Path of the Pilgrim Stargazer in Chapter 5.

As soon as you appear at the Path of the Pilgrim Stargazer, a fresh cutscene will kick off, marking the beginning of the DLC. In this cutscene, you’ll see a butterfly tracing a path to a new destination; feel free to traverse that path.

Follow the path marked by the butterfly to find the dilapidated Stargazer, originally found in the main game, that will mysteriously repair itself upon interaction. This action will grant you access to the Overture expansion pack.

Conveniently, gamers are free to move between the realm of Overture and the original game’s universe at their leisure. To accomplish this, simply engage with any Stargazer character and press the Triangle key (or its equivalent on your chosen device) to switch between realities.

How to Quickly Reach Chapter 9 in Lies of P

It seems likely that many gamers might not have progressed beyond Chapter 9 in Lies of P. If that’s your situation, you’ll need to replay most of the main game to access the DLC.

But, the DLC wasn’t just about a fresh adventure; it also incorporated adjustable difficulty levels. These levels, when set appropriately, can greatly aid in reaching Chapter 9 with ease.

If you missed reaching Chapter 9 before the release of the DLC during Summer Game Fest, which caught many off guard, my suggestion would be to play the game on its easiest setting, called “Butterfly’s Guidance.

With Butterfly’s Guidance, navigating the game becomes a breeze, especially if you’ve played Lies of P earlier. This aid will help you zip through Chapters 1 to 9 with minimal effort, enabling you to complete each chapter in significantly reduced time, often less than an hour per chapter.

While it’s important to remember that Overture can be more challenging than the base game, you might find yourself prioritizing speed over exploration and aiming straight for Chapter 9. However, I strongly suggest taking a brief detour to turn in Rare Ergo to Alidoro. This is because Rare Ergo is a recurring item that drops from main bosses throughout your playthrough, making it virtually impossible to miss. In exchange for these items, Alidoro will reward you with Boss Weapons, which can significantly boost your combat abilities. Enjoy the game!

Entering Overture with a solid foundation is crucial; if not, you’ll face a significantly tougher journey ahead. Having powerful boss weapons at your disposal can help balance the situation.
