The Automated Market Maker (AMM) engine on XRP Ledger (XRPL), which was recently introduced, has undergone a significant improvement. This update, named “fixAMMOverflowOffer,” was given the green light for implementation on the main network following a consensus-reaching vote in a stress testing phase.
XRPL AMM amendment
In version 2.1.1, we introduced the fixAMMOverflowOffer to address the issue of mishandled large synthetic AMM offers in our payment engine. With the XRP Ledger continuously advancing at a rapid rate, it’s essential to keep up with competing layer-1 blockchain networks. To accomplish this, we’ve released related engines as part of its ongoing evolution.
The introduction of the AMM on the XRP Ledger significantly established its presence in the blockchain industry. Nevertheless, this milestone was followed by a significant technical issue that sparked criticism within the community. Consequently, the AMM has undergone numerous updates to rectify this problem.
This update improves the management of larger swap requests on XRP Ledger’s decentralized exchanges (DEXs) by enhancing the capabilities of AMM Pools. By implementing this new feature, some issues that previously disrupted the XRP Ledger’s functionality can be prevented entirely.
XRP Ledger and plans for validators
The XRP Ledger is continually developing, and Ripple‘s team is making efforts to ensure validators and important community members enjoy a smooth journey when setting up camp on the platform.
According to U.Today’s previous report, changes are being made to the XRP Ledger that will affect validators directly. Additionally, new features have been implemented, such as the Clawback function designed to safeguard developers and liquidity providers from reported thefts on the network.
Some noteworthy amendments, such as “fixDisallowIncomingV1” and “fixNFTokenReserve,” have been proposed but have not yet been activated for use.
