Adidas Quietly Secures New Crypto Deal: Details

Based on a recent Axios report, Adidas, the renowned German sports brand, has entered into a new collaboration with Crypto: The Game in the realm of cryptocurrencies.

The Game” is an online competition where players try to outperform one another to win a shared Ethereum prize.

In early April, the second season of the game came to a close for the public sale, welcoming 800 new players into the competition.

Participants in the game were required to buy a unique digital token, called NFT, for a cost of approximately $350 in Ethereum (0.1 ETH).

The game is powered by Base, Coinbase’s layer-2 network that was launched back in January. 

As of the current moment, a total of 571 players have survived in the competition so far, with the upcoming event set to begin imminently.

Based on information from the X game’s official account on social media, the collaboration with Adidas has been implemented to introduce a unique gaming experience, specifically a custom challenge. As reported by Axios, starting today, players will have the opportunity to bid on Adidas tracksuit skins to enhance their gameplay.

The athletic apparel brand hasn’t newcomer status in the rapidly growing NFT market. Back in 2021, it swiftly produced 30,000 Into The Metaverse tokens. Additionally, it formed a partnership with the well-known Bored Ape Yacht Club.

In 2023, despite the declining popularity of NFTs, Adidas introduced the Into ALTS by Adidas NFT collection. In order to receive new NFTs, the holders of the previous older collection could simply burn their tokens. The 2023 NFT collection came with virtual wearables and other exclusive perks.
