A Big New Palworld Update is Coming on December 17

Palworld, the popular and unusual survival game often compared to Pokémon with guns, is receiving a significant update on December 17th. The game launched in early access last year and quickly became a hit, drawing millions of players on Xbox and Steam despite the typical bugs and performance issues found in early access titles. After about nine months, Palworld expanded its reach to PlayStation 5, bringing the game to even more players.

Palworld has stayed popular thanks to consistent updates. These updates range from simple bug fixes to major additions. About six months after the game first launched in early access, a new island called Sakurajima was added, bringing with it new creatures to collect and fresh gameplay features. More recently, in December, the Feybreak Island update was released, giving current players even more to do and enticing former players to return.

Palworld Home Sweet Home Update Release Date

A significant update for Palworld is launching on December 17th, designed to both satisfy current players and attract new and returning ones. This update, called “Home Sweet Home,” includes a crossover with the early access game Ultrakill. Players will be able to play as V1 and V2 from Ultrakill within Palworld and use their unique abilities, including Ultrakill‘s iconic coin-shooting attack. This major content addition arrives with the Home Sweet Home update on December 17th.

The upcoming collaboration between Ultrakill and Palworld is exciting, but it’s not the only new feature arriving on December 17th. Palworld players will also get new ways to customize their bases. While the full details haven’t been released yet, the “Home Sweet Home” trailer shows that players will at least be able to paint their buildings.

The partnership between Ultrakill and Palworld isn’t new – Ultrakill has collaborated with other games before, including Once Human and Terraria.

Palworld’s 1.0 Release is Coming in 2026

Palworld players have a couple of dates to look forward to! The ‘Home Sweet Home’ update is coming on December 17th. Plus, there’s a good chance we’ll see Palworld at The Game Awards on December 11th. The game has been featured at the awards show before, so it’s likely we’ll get a look at both the new update and what’s planned for the full 1.0 release.

The recent trailer for the Palworld “Home Sweet Home” update ends with a glimpse of a massive creature and a promise that the full 1.0 version of the game will launch in 2026. While Pocketpair hasn’t shared details about the 1.0 release yet, it’s sure to be something big. We’ll likely find out more either at The Game Awards on December 11th, or sometime after that.

Palworld has been quite successful so far, but its progress was slowed down by some legal concerns and controversies. If the full 1.0 version of the game is well-received, it could become popular again. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen, but it will be interesting to follow its release.
