Okay, so I just saw the news and I’m super excited! They announced a new Bluey game at the Xbox showcase! Seriously, Bluey has become a huge hit since it first came out in 2018, especially after it landed on Disney+ in 2020. It didn’t get as much hype as some other shows on there, but it quickly became one of the most popular things to watch and it’s stayed that way. I remember hearing about the episode “The Sign” – it was crazy! Over 2 million people watched it when it first aired, and then over 10 million watched it on Disney+ in just the first week. This game is gonna be awesome!
Bluey’s huge success has grown into a large franchise, including books, toys, and a live stage show. Fans can also look forward to a computer-animated movie coming out on August 6, 2027. The show has even been adapted into video games, with the first console game, Bluey: The Videogame, launching in 2023. Plus, there’s been a popular partnership with Minecraft, adding Bluey-themed content to the game.
Bluey’s Happy Snaps Brings Photography-Based Adventuring Later This Year
A new Bluey game, Bluey’s Happy Snaps, was revealed at the recent Xbox Partner Preview, along with a first look trailer. While the development team hasn’t been announced, Gameloft will be the publisher. The game is scheduled for release sometime in 2026 and will be playable on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo consoles (including older models), as well as on PCs through Steam and the Epic Games Store. It will also be part of the Xbox Play Anywhere program and included with Xbox Game Pass.
Bluey and Bingo embark on a new adventure in this game, using Bandit’s camera to capture their neighborhood explorations. Players join the sisters for a fantastic day filled with familiar locations from the show, opportunities to photograph Australian animals, and interactive “Play for Real Life” activities like Splash Tag and Keepy Uppy Volleyball. All the photos are saved in a scrapbook that players can personalize with hundreds of unlockable decorations and drawings.
The new game, Bluey’s Happy Snaps, proves just how popular Bluey still is. Even though the most recent season finished in April 2024 and fans are waiting for news about a fourth season – especially now that the show’s creator, Joe Brumm, has moved on – Bluey continues to be a hit with people of all ages. It’s remarkable how well the show has done, considering it was originally made for preschoolers. With so much continued enthusiasm, it’s no surprise another video game is coming out this year.
While it wasn’t the most spectacular game revealed, Bluey’s Happy Snaps looks like a charming and relaxing experience for families. The game beautifully recreates the look of the Bluey TV show, and its easy-to-learn gameplay will appeal to players of any skill level. Bluey’s Happy Snaps isn’t the only Bluey game coming this year – Bluey’s Quest for the Gold Pen, currently available on mobile, will also be released on consoles on May 28th. This means Bluey fans of all ages have a lot to be excited about in the coming months.
