Beyond finding collectibles and exploring locations, players will also complete quests in Nioh 3, known as Myths. These are usually short tasks – either helping characters with requests or clearing out Yokai from dungeons.

The quest “A Drop of Hope” is one of the first Myths you’ll encounter in the game. It requires you to locate medicine and then find a man’s family. Here’s a step-by-step guide to completing it in Nioh 3.

A Drop of Hope Myth Guide in Nioh 3

As you explore the Tenryu River area, go to the northwest side. There, you’ll encounter a ghost who tells the story of how he was attacked by bandits and lost the medicine he was bringing home to his family. Once you’ve spoken with him, go south to the location marked on your map.

You’ll encounter armored enemies scavenging corpses and guarding this area. Defeat them all, then examine the item in the center to obtain the Physick.

Your task has changed. Now, you need to deliver the medicine you’re carrying to the man’s family. Head north from the Hamamatsu region to find a Shrine. The search area is a circular zone right next to it. From the Shrine, go straight to that zone, and you’ll find a Yokai outside the door of the second house on your right.

Okay, so I just took down this mini-boss, Yoki, using my ninja and samurai skills. It was tough, but I made it! When I went inside, it turned out the guy I was looking for had lost his whole family – pretty sad stuff. After a little cutscene, I got some rewards for completing that part of the game.
