October was a huge month for One Piece fans, with the exciting news that the anime will now be released seasonally, with around 30 new episodes each year.
The latest news has left fans with complicated feelings, as they’re used to seeing a new episode of One Piece each week. Recently, fans received a significant update concerning one of the show’s main characters.
Figarland Shamrock’s Voice Actor Has Been Confirmed
Kenjiro Tsuda Will Voice Figarland Shamrock
I just learned some exciting news for One Piece fans! Kenjiro Tsuda, a truly iconic voice actor, will be playing Figarland Shamrock, one of the major villains in the upcoming Elbaf arc. The announcement came through a trailer for Volume 113 of the manga. Tsuda-san has voiced so many famous anime characters over the years, and it’s fantastic to hear him joining the cast. Some of his most recognizable roles include…
- Kento Nanami (Jujutsu Kaisen)
- Kishibe (Chainsaw Man)
- The Beholder (To Your Eternity)
A lot of One Piece fans might not realize this isn’t Kenjiro Tsuda’s first time working on the series. Before voicing Figarland Shamrock, he previously played Yonji, the youngest son of Vinsmoke Judge. While Yonji’s part in the Whole Cake Island arc wasn’t huge, Figarland Shamrock is expected to be a much more prominent character, potentially one of the most important in One Piece‘s final saga.
Viewers who are only familiar with the anime haven’t been introduced to Shamrock yet. He’s the son of Figarland Garling and the older twin brother of Shanks. The twins were separated when they were young and grew up with different families, which explains why they have such distinct personalities.
One Piece Anime Will Enter The Elbaf Arc
With the One Piece anime expected to begin the Elbaf arc in 2026, it’s not surprising that a major villain’s voice actor has already been announced. The anime is now following a seasonal format, meaning it will finish the Egghead arc and then pause from January to March 2026.
One Piece will continue its story with the Elbaf arc in April. A first look at the arc’s visuals has already been revealed, along with updated designs for the Straw Hat crew. The anime is switching to a seasonal format to give the production team a chance to rest and recharge, ensuring they can continue delivering a high-quality show. This break will help them recover and return with their best work.
One Piece is available to read on the Shonen Jump+ app.
