To enjoy Forza Horizon 5 on your PlayStation 5, it’s essential to have an active Microsoft account.
The latest report, initially shared online by XboxEra, clarifies that the upcoming release necessitates a Microsoft account for access.
It reads, “Q: Do I need a Microsoft account to play Forza Horizon 5 on PlayStation 5?”
Solution: To play Forza Horizon 5 on your PS5, you’ll not only require a PlayStation Network (PSN) account but also need to connect it with a Microsoft account. The linking process initiates the very first time you launch the game on your console.
It’s worth noting that it’s not uncommon for Xbox games coming to the PlayStation 5 to necessitate an account, and this is certainly the case with titles like Sea of Thieves. Similarly, a Microsoft account is required for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of Minecraft. In other words, this isn’t a novel requirement for these games when they are ported to the PlayStation 5.
Rest assured, it’s not only Forza Horizon affected by this; we’ve reached out to Xbox for confirmation on the matter. If they provide clarity, we’ll make sure to update our article accordingly.
Forza Horizon 5 is set to release for the PlayStation 5 on April 25, 2025.
