Co-creator of Back to The Future, Bob Gale, has said that a new video game is in the works.
In an exclusive chat with Cleveland.com (behind a paywall), I got to hang out and chat with none other than Bob Gale, the brilliant mind behind Back to the Future!
During the interview, Gale was queried about his future plans within the Back to the Future universe. His response indicated they have an opportunity to develop a fresh video game inspired by Back to the Future.
Gale went on to say, “I can’t reveal any more details as I’m not permitted to, but this is something I’ve been eager to bring about for quite some time. Fingers crossed it comes to fruition. Notably, 2025 marks the 40th anniversary of the initial film. We have some special events lined up and there’s a documentary currently in post-production about the creation of the musical.
For anyone not already aware, “Back to the Future” has previously been turned into a game titled “Back to the Future: The Game,” which was developed by Telltale Games and distributed in five separate installments, or episodes, starting from December 2010.
Initially, the game garnered generally favorable criticisms and climbed up to the third spot on the PlayStation 3’s sales rankings upon launch. Notably, Telltale Games declined to disclose any specific sales data.
