A Rift in the Faron Wetlands Walkthrough in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

As a seasoned adventurer who’s traversed through numerous realms in search of the Triforce, I must say that my journey through the Faron Wetlands in “Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom” was an unforgettable experience. The rift that tore this land apart was a testament to the power of darkness, yet it also served as a beacon calling me towards another grand adventure.

In the southwest corner of Hyrule, within the game “Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom,” lies the Faron Wetlands. If you take a leisurely stroll around this area before heading back to Hyrule Castle, chances are you’ve stumbled upon it. However, until you embark on the quest titled “Lands of the Goddesses,” there isn’t much for you to interact with. Once you save Hyrule Castle Town, you will be tasked with reporting to the Faron region to initiate the main quest, “A Rift in the Faron Wetlands.” In “Echoes of Wisdom,” you have the freedom to start “A Rift in the Faron Wetlands” at your own pace, allowing you to complete it whenever you desire.

How to Complete

Upon beginning the “Lands of the Goddesses” main quest, your initial destination in Faron Wetlands is Scrubton to the east. In the north of this village, there’s a significant door that opens up to a colossal rift. Regrettably, you won’t be able to proceed until you acquire a Membership Card.

If you travel southeast from Scubton, you’ll encounter a cluster of Deku Scrubs close to a smaller fissure. One of these Deku Scrubs possesses a Membership Card, but first, you must clean up the rift to retrieve it. After achieving this task, the other Deku Scrubs will imprison you in the Scubton jail.

In this section of the adventure, it’s essential to move quietly and secure the Tri Rod to regain all your gear. Exit the Scrubton jail through a well, and you’ll encounter a rafflesia Deku Scrub outside. This friendly character will reward you with a Membership Card as a token of gratitude.

Make your way back to the colossal entrance, which leads to the Sweet Spot – a place where the fissure lies in wait. Just like with other zones featuring immense chasms, you’ll have to vanquish the Quiet Realm and conquer the boss to bring balance once more. Upon successful completion of this task, “A Rift in the Faron Wetlands” will be marked as finished in your Journal, and you’ll acquire Farore’s Blessing.

Things to Do During “A Rift in the Faron Wetlands”

Recommended Echoes

Before you start mending the rifts – especially the one near the rafflesia Deku Scrub – you should start learning some Echoes in the wetlands. Most monsters in the Faron Wetlands specialize in electricity, giving Zelda a nasty shock if they come in contact with her.

  • You’ll want to learn the Drippitune Echo, since you’ll need it to access the Faron Temple in the Stilled Faron Wetlands. These are scattered around Faron Wetlands, and you’ll know there’s one nearby if it randomly starts raining.
  • Another Echo you may consider is the Electric Wizzrobe. This can be found northwest of the waypoint near the rafflesia Deku Scrub, near the Faron Ruins.
  • You should also enter the cave north of the Heart Lake (southwest Faron Wetlands) to pick up the Lizalfos Lv. 3 Echo. Unlike regular Lizalfos, the Lizalfos Lv. 3 can swim and fight underwater. You’ll need 5 triangles of Tri’s power to summon it.
  • Finally, enter the cave to the far east from Scurbton’s Smoothie Shop to find the Darknut Lv. 3 Echo. It’s one of the best Echoes in-game and will serve you well in the Faron Temple and its boss.

You should explore Faron Wetlands to pick up Heart Pieces and Might Crystals. Some of the caves have a Heart Piece, and Might Crystals are hidden in the large grass or behind spider webs that you can burn with an Ignizol or other fire Echo. It’s not a bad idea to upgrade your Swordfighter Mode’s bow, energy, or sword. If you have them, you can upgrade your bombs to level 2 to unlock the Bombchus.

If you’re struggling to locate Crystals, it might be helpful to attempt acquiring the Bell, known as the “Great Fairy’s Request,” which can be found near Lake Hylia.

As a fan, I’d recommend venturing beyond the Faron Wetlands to explore Holy Mount Lanayru or Eldin Volcano. Each location is home to unique creatures wielding ice and fire powers. If you’ve managed to calm the Faron Wetlands, the icy beasts in Mount Lanayru could be a challenge worth taking on. The Fire Keese Echo or the Fire Wizzrobe might come in handy for lighting up the several chambers within the Faron Temple that require torch illumination.
