So, I just heard this crazy story – a smaller streamer named EvenBadWolves Gaming, whose real name is Elizabeth McAulay, is actually suing a much bigger creator, InkSlasher! Apparently, she claims InkSlasher stole some of her content, and she’s taking legal action. It’s a pretty wild situation to see happening in the streaming world.
I was shocked when I saw EvenBadWolves Gaming’s latest video! She posted a comparison of her own work with a video by InkSlasher, and it looks like InkSlasher actually used over half an hour of her footage! She shows side-by-side clips that are identical, plus they even have the same editing choices and watermarks. It’s pretty clear that InkSlasher didn’t create all of that content themselves.
McAulay spent 200 hours making her original video, so it’s really upsetting to see so much of her work copied by others. She says YouTube often doesn’t address these problems due to its copyright rules, making it hard for creators like her to prove their content was stolen because of the way counter-notifications work.
McAulay, a practicing lawyer, is taking legal action against InkFlasher, claiming they stole her work. She has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit with the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
McAulay explains that legal battles are expensive, and she estimates her case could cost up to $135,000 Australian dollars. To help cover these costs, she’s started a GoFundMe campaign, hoping to raise $50,000 AUD. If you’d like to support her, you can also watch the video from EvenBadWolves Gaming.
After the video was posted online, InkSlasher’s video vanished from YouTube, and he appears to be staying silent about the claims, likely because anything he says could be used as evidence in legal proceedings.
What are your thoughts on the EvenBadWolves Gaming situation? Do you believe she has a strong case against InkSlasher in court? Also, what’s your opinion on the TopMob Discord server?
