A passionate Valheim player has been recreating real-world businesses, like Dollar General and Chili’s, inside the game, with amusing outcomes. They’ve built several other popular stores and restaurants too, adding a touch of the everyday world to the Valheim experience.
I’ve been playing Valheim since it came out in Early Access in 2021, and one of the things I really love is how you can build almost anything. It’s super easy to get started and build a decent base, but if you really want to, you can get incredibly complex with your builds. People are constantly blowing me away with what they create! Just recently, I saw someone build this massive fire escape onto a Sealed Tower – it’s not only really useful, but it looks amazing too. It’s always inspiring to see what creative players come up with using the building tools in the game.
Valheim Player Builds Various Stores and Restaurants in the Game
A Valheim player named Greg the Sorcerer recently gained a lot of attention online by building incredibly detailed recreations of a Chili’s restaurant and a Dollar General store within the game. Greg the Sorcerer explained they built the Chili’s after destroying a goblin village, and the Dollar General simply because they didn’t like the surrounding scenery. They even recreated the logos for both businesses with impressive accuracy. The posts on X (formerly Twitter) quickly went viral, earning over 66,000 likes for the Chili’s and 17,000 for the Dollar General.
Greg the Sorcerer isn’t stopping with just Chili’s and Dollar General in his Valheim world. He’s added a T-Mobile store next to the Dollar General, hinting at a larger retail park he’s building. He’s also constructed a Waffle House and a McDonald’s, really showcasing the impressive building possibilities in Valheim. While he hasn’t shared pictures of the interiors yet, it sounds like all the buildings are detailed inside, and it would be fascinating to see them.
People flooded the comments with ideas for Greg the Sorcerer’s next builds. Some jokingly requested a Walmart, while another suggested a Wendy’s to recreate popular memes. It’s unknown if the player will add more shops and restaurants, but fans hope they continue to share their creations – it’s a really fun and well-done idea!
Even though it’s still in development, Valheim players have a lot to anticipate in the months ahead. The game is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 in 2026, bringing it to Sony’s platform after being available on PC and Xbox. The developers at Iron Gate Studio recently announced plans to add more building materials, giving players even greater freedom to create and build within the game.
