As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for underwater adventures and a soft spot for roguelike FPS games, I find myself intrigued by Abyssus. The concept of blasting my way out of an ancient sunken city sounds like a thrilling challenge that aligns perfectly with my gaming preferences.
Developer DoubleMoose, in collaboration with Publisher The Arcade Crew, has unveiled Abyssus – a high-speed roguelike first-person shooter set to release in the year 2025. Excitingly, an alpha version of the game will be made available starting tomorrow, December 6th.
As a seasoned underwater explorer, I’ve stumbled upon the enigmatic ruins of a long-lost aquatic civilization in the depths of Abyssus. To ensure my survival, I’ll have to crack their secrets and master the art of controlled explosions to blast my way free!
Check out the announcement trailer, and all the new info, below:
Following the discovery of a potent electromagnetic anomaly beneath the ocean, Brinehunters are dispatched in a submersible to locate the source. Their journey leads them to an antique, submerged city that has lain undisturbed for ages. They delve into the remnants of this long-lost civilization, uncovering its enigmas while battling waves of corrupted adversaries wielding technology from eons past. These weapons offer responsive feedback, ensuring each strike feels deliberate and forceful.
Adventurous deep-sea hired guns are invited to plunge into Abyssus from tomorrow, thanks to the approaching playable open alpha. Pick from a range of divine blessings and weapon enhancements to find your preferred method for annihilating ancient protectors. An FPS wouldn’t be complete without nail-biting boss battles, and the Abyssus alpha will offer two main boss fights, along with two minibosses. Marksmen seeking a challenge can also switch between two modes to test out modifiers and bonuses that spice up the gameplay.
In heart-pounding multiplayer scenarios, the Brinehunters need to make clever use of their extensive weapon customizations and historical relics to adapt their strategy for survival and ascend back to the surface. Lone adventurers or teams of four can delve into the depths, with the option to join forces in cooperative play. The engaging gameplay progression, richly rewarding veterans and newcomers alike, will captivate players as they tirelessly seek out every modification, relic, and skill hidden within the enigmatic and treacherous society, often losing track of time in their quest.
Abyssus offers a unique blend of DoubleMoose’s powerful engine technology and exceptional build customization, resulting in an immersive multiplayer adventure that promises endless fun. This game is set in the captivating brinepunk genre, where a mysterious substance called brine fuels all technology but can only be discovered at the deepest ocean depths. The heart-stopping first-person shooter (FPS) action takes you on a thrilling journey from the bottom of the sea. Additionally, Abyssus offers post-launch seasons and events that will keep you captivated long after your initial encounters with its genetically modified defenders, exploring the lost kingdom beneath the waves.
