Activision Donates $1M to Wildfire Efforts

Beyond Square Enix, it’s also Activision lending a hand in the wildfire relief efforts in Los Angeles. They recently declared they will be contributing $1 million to these efforts.

The studio has additionally made a Call of Duty pack featuring Black Ops 6 and Warzone, which can now be found in the game’s online store.

Activision Steps Up To Aid Wildfire Relief Efforts In LA

If you assume that Activision is only raking in profits by launching a new bundle while announcing their donation, you might want to reconsider. As stated in their press release, every cent earned from sales of the La Fire Relief pack will be channeled towards relief efforts, with the funds evenly distributed between two charities – the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation (LAFD) and Direct Relief.

Activision emphasizes that these donations contribute towards aiding fire relief initiatives, and at the same time, they provide an avenue for the Call of Duty community to actively participate in assisting those impacted by the persistent wildfires in Los Angeles.

According to the latest figures, nearly 30 individuals have tragically lost their lives due to the raging wildfires, and over 3,000 people have been forced out of their homes as a result. Currently, about 80,000 residents are under mandatory evacuation orders, with that number likely to rise in the upcoming days.

Elsewhere in the CoD world, Greg Reisdorf, the multiplayer creative head at Sledgehammer Games, has parted ways with the studio following a remarkable 15-year tenure.

As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but feel frustrated when it comes to the latest installment in the Black Ops series, Black Ops 6. Activision is hinting at more Zombie content, but it seems they need to address some urgent matters first – specifically, the rampant cheating issues on PC that are tarnishing the game’s image. Despite their claims of hourly purges to weed out cheaters, Call of Duty Warzone has hit rock bottom, with no signs of improvement. This problem is only intensified by the publisher’s recent introduction of yet another microtransaction scheme in the game, which hasn’t exactly been met with enthusiasm from the community.
