This article contains spoilers from Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has done a great job setting up a compelling new group of villains. The previous series highlighted the members of Kara, but now the story centers on the Shinju. As fans know, the Shinju are incredibly powerful beings created from the Ten Tails by giving it a mind of its own. Code was responsible for creating them, and now Boruto viewers can anticipate seeing these formidable villains in action.
When it comes to compelling characters, Jura, the strongest of the Shinju, is the first villain in the Naruto series to reach the same level as Madara Uchiha since Madara’s defeat in the Fourth Great Ninja War. He’s a truly exciting addition to the franchise, and arguably the best villain introduced in years.
Jura Is The Best Villain In Boruto So Far
The Boruto series has featured many interesting villains. While Momoshiki appeared early on and was engaging, he didn’t quite capture the same level of fear and excitement from fans. Isshiki was another incredibly strong villain who met expectations in terms of power, but ultimately, he didn’t fully resonate with viewers.
Just by looking at you, I’ve figured it out. Naruto Uzumaki, he’s alive, right? — Jura to Kawaki
I’m really seeing Boruto face a truly formidable villain with Jura. This guy isn’t just strong – he’s incredibly powerful. What’s really interesting, though, is that he’s not simply evil. Jura has a real drive to learn and grow, and he’s especially curious about understanding emotions, particularly love. It’s a theme that feels familiar, actually. It reminds me of how Kishimoto, the creator of Naruto, often built his villains around ideas of love and, more often, the pain of losing it.
Jura’s Character Writing Has A Ton Of Potential
Jura is proving to be a fantastic character, and the writers, Kishimoto and Ikemoto, are doing an excellent job developing him. His story is far from over, which is really promising for what’s to come in Boruto.
At this point, I’d say killing him is impossible. — Amado to Kawaki
Jura Is Far Stronger Than Madara Uchiha
Jura is undeniably more powerful than Madara. Jura’s strength is on a completely different level – he could easily defeat even the Otsutsuki clan, making Madara pale in comparison. But despite this, Madara is the more compelling and effective villain.
I’ve been following Boruto, and I’m really intrigued by Jura. He’s the first villain introduced who seems to have the potential to become a truly major threat, maybe even on par with Madara eventually, if his story unfolds as we expect. A lot of fans, myself included, are eagerly anticipating seeing how his character grows and what he’s capable of – it promises to be really exciting!
I’m looking forward to the release of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 29 on December 18, 2025! It’s scheduled to drop around 10 AM Eastern Time, or 3 PM UTC. As usual, fans can read it for free on Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump app when it becomes available.
