This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf arc.
The latest chapter of One Piece, chapter 1163, shocked readers with its ending, which showed the quick battle between Rocks D. Xebec and Saint Imu come to a close. Fans expected the God Valley Incident, revealed through the Loki flashback, to end tragically for Rocks D. Xebec, as his death was already known. However, nobody anticipated how easily he would be defeated.
Eiichiro Oda has stunned fans and definitively established Saint Imu Nerona as the strongest character in One Piece so far. Chapter 1163 showcased Imu battling a combined force of legendary pirates – including Rocks, Roger, Whitebeard, Garp, Big Mom, and Kaido – and emerging completely unscathed. Even more impressively, Imu defeated Rocks with a single attack using Domi Reversi, turning him into a slave. This display leaves no question: Saint Imu Nerona is currently the most powerful character in the One Piece world.

Before chapter 1163 of One Piece, many fans debated which pirate was the strongest, with popular choices being the Rocks Pirates, Whitebeard, or Roger. However, the reality is that no pirate, regardless of their strength, compares to Imu.
What could that be? Simply put, it’s the world itself! — Rocks D. Xebec, speaking about Imu.
This incredibly powerful being, who seems to live forever, is unstoppable. Rocks, a legendary pirate who effortlessly defeated a Navy Admiral and even Garling Figarland, couldn’t harm Imu. In chapter 1163 of One Piece, Rocks managed to severely cut Imu, but it didn’t even faze them. Imu easily countered by impaling Rocks with two appendages and then used a technique called Domi Reversi to enslave him.
Even Roger and Whitebeard would have been defeated with just one hit from Imu, highlighting how much more powerful Imu is compared to anyone else.
Mu shall do nothing. Thou shalt kill your wife and child. — Imu to Rocks D. Xebec
Saint Imu Is Unbeatable Right Now
Even Luffy Can’t Beat Him At The Moment
Currently in One Piece, Saint Imu appears to be completely invincible. Since even the formidable Rocks Pirates couldn’t defeat him, it’s unlikely anyone currently sailing the seas could. The only person ever shown capable of challenging Imu was Joy Boy, but he passed away long ago. Luffy’s Haki isn’t nearly as strong as Joy Boy’s, and he doesn’t currently stand a chance against Imu.
Considering how the story is developing, it seems likely that Luffy will face a major setback in Elbaf, possibly even a defeat – something fans haven’t seen since the time skip. While concerning, this could also make the current arc of One Piece much more intense once the flashback finishes. Hopefully, the author, Oda, has some unexpected and thrilling events planned to keep fans engaged.
The newest chapter of One Piece is coming out this week, as it typically does on Sundays. While it’s released in Japan at midnight JST on Monday, most international fans will be able to read it on October 26th. The chapter will be available to read for free on Manga Plus.
