After Gojo And Yuta, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Officially Reveals A New Special Grade Level Sorcerer

This article contains spoilers from the JJK Modulo series.

In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, sorcerers are ranked by their power, and the Jujutsu HQ has created a system for doing so. The highest rank is Special Grade, reserved for only a few incredibly powerful sorcerers – those capable of threatening entire countries. In the original JJK story, only Gojo, Geto, Yuki, and Yuta reached this level. Now, in the sequel series, JJK Modulo, the author has officially added another sorcerer to the Special Grade classification.

Yuka Okkotsu is now as powerful as a Special Grade sorcerer, as shown in chapter 13 of JJK Modulo. She gained this strength through a powerful Binding Vow, but using it comes with a significant cost.

Yuka Okkotsu Is The Next Special Grade Level Sorcerer In JJK Modulo

Yuka Okkotsu is the granddaughter of Yuta and Maki, and she’s predicted to be an exceptionally powerful sorcerer. Many believe she has the potential to become even stronger than both of her grandparents, possibly the strongest sorcerer of all time. This is due to her lineage – she could inherit the power of both the Zenin and Gojo clans, and will eventually also gain the power from Rika’s ring.

Earthling Sorcerers have a desperate, last-ditch technique they use when facing death – it’s called a Binding Vow. Yuka has been searching for a cause worthy of sacrificing herself for, believing that if she was going to die anyway, she might as well do it for the sake of others. — Tsurugi, speaking about Yuka Okkotsu

Yuka is already exceptionally strong, but she won’t have time to reach her peak potential. Due to a life-threatening brain tumor, she only has three months to live. This desperate situation led her to make a powerful, risky commitment – a Binding Vow – as seen in the latest chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen.

Tsurugi made a powerful pact that greatly increases her abilities, though it cost her something she deeply values. While the details of this pact are unknown, Tsurugi believes it will allow her to confront Dabura, an exceptionally strong enemy whose power exceeds the usual rankings of the Jujutsu HQ.

This confirms that Yuka is officially a Special Grade sorcerer. However, being a Special Grade doesn’t mean everyone is equally powerful. Just like Yuki and Yuta are both Special Grades but far weaker than Gojo, there’s a significant difference in strength even among those at the highest level. Sukuna and Hanami were both Special Grade as well, but they weren’t comparable in power.

Honestly, I’m so excited to see just how powerful Yuka will become as a Special Grade! It’s already clear she is Special Grade material, even if we’re still figuring out her full potential. It’s a done deal, as far as I’m concerned!

Yuka Made A Binding Vow In JJK Modulo

Yuka’s incredible power, which has earned her a Special Grade ranking, comes from a powerful promise she made – a Binding Vow. Tsurugi believes this vow has pushed her abilities to their absolute limit. While it’s unclear what Yuka sacrificed to gain this power, it may be her own lifespan. This sacrifice could be why she’s able to compete with someone as strong as Dabura. Tsurugi suggests Yuka knowingly made this vow, accepting that it would significantly shorten her life and lead to an early death.

She’d die much faster, but would receive incredible abilities as a trade-off. Currently, Tsurugi is trying to drive out the Simurians himself, hoping to avoid a battle entirely, and that’s the central problem right now.

Yuka is already exceptionally strong, but she has the potential to become even more powerful, potentially reaching a level comparable to Gojo. This is because she’s going to gain access to Rika, who will grant her both incredibly potent cursed techniques and a powerful Special Grade Curse to assist her in battle.

A long time ago, the heads of our clans – those who wielded the Ten Shadows and the Limitless techniques – fought and killed each other. Do you get what I’m hinting at, Megumi? It’s about the power of the Ten Shadows.

Additionally, Yuka has gained access to the massive cursed energy reserves originally belonging to Yuta. It’s also possible she inherited the 10 Shadows Technique, given how closely her own cursed technique resembles it.

Yuka might have even received some of Gojo’s power through Yuta, a relative of Gojo’s through their shared ancestor, Michizane Sugawara. She has incredible potential, and if her brain tumor can be successfully treated, she could become the most powerful sorcerer ever.

The sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen, titled Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, is currently being published in Weekly Shonen Jump. It takes place 68 years after the Shinjuku Showdown arc and features Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, the grandchildren of Yuta and Maki, as the main characters. Chapter 15 is scheduled to come out on December 14, 2025, at midnight in Japan (11:00 AM Eastern Time, 8:00 AM Pacific Time). Readers can access the chapter for free on Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump app.
