This post contains spoilers for Demon Slayer.
2025 is shaping up to be an amazing year for fans of Demon Slayer! After a considerable wait, the first film in the highly anticipated Infinity Castle trilogy has finally been released. Ever since the trilogy was announced, viewers have been excited to see what the animation studio, ufotable, would create.
Fans of *Demon Slayer* were excited for the new movie, especially since the studio had already created the hugely popular *Mugen Train* film. However, the *Infinity Castle* movie exceeded even those high expectations. Now, following its incredible success, *Demon Slayer* and Netflix are working on an even more ambitious project.
Netflix Is Working On A Demon Slayer Live Action Adaptation
Demon Slayer Live Action Will Increase Its Fame

- Netflix is working on a Demon Slayer live action adaptation
- Currently there is no release date for the project
Netflix has experienced incredible growth over the past decade, becoming the go-to streaming service for many people worldwide. This success has allowed Netflix to experiment with new shows and better understand what its audience enjoys. As a result, Netflix now boasts hundreds, if not thousands, of original series – some of which have become huge hits, while others haven’t gained much attention.
Netflix originally focused on live-action shows, but the increasing popularity of anime led them to expand their offerings. Now, several anime series are exclusive to Netflix, and this shift in strategy has proven very successful. With continued success and a willingness to innovate, Netflix isn’t afraid to take chances, as they’re doing with the upcoming live-action adaptation of Demon Slayer.

That’s correct – Netflix and Demon Slayer are teaming up to create a live-action series! Development started slowly, but the huge success of the first *Infinity Castle* movie has pushed Netflix to move forward more aggressively. Currently, we don’t have any information about when the series might be released.
Netflix is pleased with the popularity of anime and is looking to replicate that success with live-action adaptations. However, anime fans are often disappointed with these live-action versions, as they rarely live up to the quality of the original animated series.
Recent live-action adaptations have been more successful, and the One Piece Live Action is a prime example. Thanks to a large budget and creative choices approved by the series creator, Oda, it’s been a massive hit with viewers. The show has received such a positive response that Netflix has already ordered two more seasons.
Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Movie 2 Is Already In Production
Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Movie Will Likely Release In 2027

Although the live-action Demon Slayer film didn’t generate a lot of buzz, expectations are much higher for the next installment in the Infinity Castle trilogy. Production on the second movie likely started soon after the first one was released. ufotable, the studio behind the animation, really raised the bar with ‘Akaza’s Return,’ and now they’re aiming to top that. Fortunately, fans can be confident in the quality, as ufotable consistently improves with each new project, meaning the next Demon Slayer movie will probably be even better than the last.

The huge success of the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie is inspiring other popular series to consider releasing parts of their stories as films. One Piece and Solo Leveling, with their large and dedicated fan bases, are the most likely candidates to announce new movie releases, hoping to achieve similar financial results.
As a huge One Piece fan, I’m really hoping we get a movie that’s officially part of the story now! They’ve done a lot of side stories in movies before, but with the God Valley Incident being covered in the manga, the timing feels perfect for a canon film. And speaking of awesome adaptations, Solo Leveling is just *begging* for a movie! There’s so much action, it would look incredible on the big screen. Plus, since we haven’t heard anything about a third season of the anime yet, I wouldn’t be surprised if Aniplex went straight for a movie instead!
