After One For All, Horikoshi Reveals Izuku Midoriya’s Next Power In My Hero Academia

After a fantastic run, My Hero Academia is nearing its conclusion. Although the anime is just getting to these final events, the manga ended about a year ago. The story wraps up with the defeat of All For One and the death of Shigaraki Tomura. However, the ending is also tinged with sadness, as Izuku Midoriya, the main character, loses his most powerful ability, One For All. This loss is particularly impactful, considering all the effort and sacrifice Izuku made to master the power and prove himself worthy.

It was especially disheartening for Izuku Midoriya that all of his friends became heroes, but things changed after the significant time jump in My Hero Academia. However, with help from Bakugo, his classmates in Class 1-A, and even All Might, Izuku now has a specially made suit of armor. This new armor is reportedly even more durable than the one All Might used during his battle with One For All.

This incredible armor was designed by analyzing Izuku’s fighting style and abilities. While fans didn’t get a full look at its capabilities, the creator of the series, Kohei Horikoshi, confirmed it’s extremely powerful. He explained that the armor replicates the full extent of One For All’s power, including abilities from past users like Blackwhip.

It makes sense that this would also work with Quirks like Smokescreen, Gearshift, Danger Sense, Float, and Fa Jin. More importantly, fans now understand that Izuku’s new armor focuses on significantly increasing both his strength and speed. Essentially, it’s a return to the power of One For All, and that’s what makes him unique once more.

Izuku Midoriya is back to actively fighting as a hero, even while continuing to teach at U.A. High. He remains incredibly strong and a key figure in the world of My Hero Academia. Recently, he’s officially ranked as the #4 hero in Japan, surpassing even Bakugo in the rankings.

Ultimately, Izuku Midoriya’s core abilities haven’t really changed. He previously possessed One For All, and now has a technologically advanced suit that replicates the same power, giving him the same combat strengths. While it took time to unlock this new form, Izuku’s main powers remain fundamentally the same.
