Why Naruto Deserves A Fresh Reboot Anime Soon
The original Naruto anime started airing in 2003 and was groundbreaking for its time, with some episodes still considered among the best animated ever. While the animation still looks good today, the series has deeper problems that a reboot could fix. The biggest issue is the pacing – with over 600 episodes, much of it is filler content. This makes it hard for new viewers to follow the main story, constantly switching between important plot points and unrelated episodes, which really hurts the viewing experience and makes it difficult to get invested.
Like One Piece, Naruto has problems with maintaining a consistent level of quality. While some episodes are truly amazing and considered some of the best anime has to offer, others are noticeably weak. This isn’t as common in newer anime seasons, which usually have fewer episodes (around 12-24) and allow studios enough time to create consistently high-quality content. If Naruto had been made with this approach, it could have been much better paced and consistently excellent throughout.
