The talented minds at Remedy Entertainment, its creators, unveiled their financial reports today, and guess what? They shared that they’ve managed to sell over 2 million units of the game so far. That’s a huge achievement, and I can’t wait to see where this captivating story goes next!
In the latter half of 2024, Remedy detailed the steps they undertook to help Alan Wake 2 surpass the 2 million copy sales milestone. Initially, they launched The Lake House expansion in October, which was met with favorable reviews. Furthermore, a physical retail version of the Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition was made available for purchase.
Approximately a few months past its release, the developers rolled out an update for PlayStation 5 Pro on the game, as well as other updates aimed at enhancing the overall quality of the game on all platforms. To top it off, they collaborated with Limited Run Games to introduce a physical Collector’s Edition for avid fans towards the end. These moves led to sustained sales for Alan Wake 2, allowing them to cover their initial expenses. By the tail end of 2024, Remedy began earning royalties from the game’s sales.
In addition, Remedy shared its strategies for Alan Wake and Control series, both part of the Remedy Connected Universe. Their upcoming games in these brands will be self-published, with a primary goal to grow and expand them in the coming years. By 2030, they aspire to become a renowned creative studio that achieves both artistic acclaim and financial sustainability.
