Alan Wake 2 PS5 Pro Enhanced Features Detailed

As a die-hard Alan Wake fan with countless sleepless nights spent chasing Taken in the dark forests of Bright Falls, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming PS5 Pro Enhanced version of Alan Wake 2! The inclusion of ray-tracing is just the icing on the cake, adding an unprecedented level of realism to the already terrifying world Remedy Entertainment has crafted.

The key new feature unveiled for Alan Wake 2 on PlayStation 5 Pro has been announced as ray-tracing technology.

In the enhanced PS5 Pro edition of Alan Wake 2, you’ll notice improved versions of the Quality and Performance settings. This upgrade makes use of Sony’s innovative PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) technology for enhanced clarity and detail in the visuals.

Quality

As a gaming enthusiast, diving into Alan Wake 2’s Quality Mode on my PS5 Pro, I’m excited to experience the 30 frames per second action with ray tracing and ray-traced reflections, both opaque and transparent. In this mode, the game will render at a resolution of 4K (3840 x 2160), while the actual output resolution is set at 2176×1224. What makes this experience even more enticing is that ray tracing wasn’t available in the standard PS5 version of the game, making this a truly enhanced gaming experience for me!

Performance

As a devoted gamer on the PS5 Pro, I’m thrilled to share that in Performance Mode, I can anticipate a more stunning visual experience compared to the standard PS5. Interestingly, the Performance Mode on the PS5 Pro offers roughly the same image quality as the base PS5’s Quality mode, just saying! When I engage this mode, I can look forward to a smooth 60 fps gameplay, with a 4K output resolution (3840 x 2160) and a render resolution of 1536 x 864.

Users need to understand that the default PS5 Performance mode offers a resolution of 1440p and employs reduced graphical settings. For additional insights, please refer to our blog post.
