Alan Wake 2’s Anniversary Update Goes Live Today

As an ardent gamer with years of experience under my belt, I am absolutely thrilled about Remedy Entertainment’s Anniversary Update for Alan Wake 2! The fact that they are not only enhancing the gameplay but also focusing on accessibility options is truly commendable.

Today, Remedy Entertainment is unveiling the Anniversary Update for Alan Wake 2, featuring enhancements to user experience and accessibility. These improvements are included at no cost.

In a recent blog post, Remedy shared that they’ve been gathering feedback, making adjustments, and enhancing Alan Wake 2 for its Anniversary Update – all while developing two expansions, Night Springs and The Lake House. This update incorporates many features requested by fans, as well as their “most significant improvement to the game’s quality of life and accessibility options.

As an ardent fan, I’ve got a suggestion for the upcoming anniversary update of Alan Wake 2. Instead of merely allowing us to invert the vertical axis on our mouse and controllers, could we also have the option to invert the horizontal axis? This would provide a more comfortable gaming experience for those who prefer it that way!

In the upcoming update for Alan Wake 2, gyro aiming (motion controls) will be available exclusively on PlayStation 5 when using the DualSense controller. After the Anniversary Update, you’ll have the option to activate the motion sensor, which can be adjusted for both horizontal and vertical sensitivity. You can also set a specific gyro space and decide if you prefer standard or inverted directions for pitch, yaw, and roll.

Additionally, the DualSense controller is set to receive enhanced and finely-tuned haptic feedback for weapons, while it will also respond to healing items and projectiles.

In addition to The Anniversary Update, you’ll find a new Gameplay Assistance menu that offers multiple customizable settings. Here’s a rundown of all the available options: [list provided]

  • Quick turn
  • Auto-complete QTE
  • Button tapping to a single tap
  • Weapon charging with taps
  • Healing items with taps
  • Lightshifter with taps
  • Player invulnerability
  • Player immortality
  • One shot kill
  • Infinite ammo
  • Infinite flashlight batteries
