A24 Studios has officially confirmed that the brilliant mind behind films like ‘Ex Machina’, Alex Garland, is not only penning but also directing a live-action Elden Ring movie. The announcement follows Garland’s Warfare and Civil War movies at A24.
The game titled Elden Ring is looking to be the most ambitious undertaking yet for A24, surpassing their previous records set by films like Civil War and Warfare. Known primarily for art-house masterpieces and independent productions that have garnered critical acclaim, A24’s biggest production to date in terms of budget has been Civil War, with a budget of $50 million that generated over $127 million globally. Meanwhile, Warfare earned more than $32 million on a budget of only $20 million.
Additionally, Garland penned the forthcoming “28 Years Later” films. Specifically, the first film titled “28 Years Later,” helmed by Danny Boyle, is set to hit theaters on June 5. The sequel, titled “The Bone Temple,” directed by Nia DaCosta, will follow on June 16, 2026.
The Elden Ring movie has no release date and the plot is unknown.
