Summary
- Alien: Rogue Incursion – Part One: Evolved Edition is coming to PC and PS5 on September 30.
- Players will no longer need a VR headset to play.
- Part Two has been in development since December 2024.
The enhanced version of “Alien: Rogue Incursion,” which initially was only playable on VR headsets, is set to debut on Steam and PlayStation 5 this year. Initially, when “Alien: Rogue Incursion” launched for PC and PS5 in December 2024, it necessitated the use of a VR headset such as the PlayStation VR2 to offer players an unprecedented face-to-face encounter with the terrifying Xenomorph. Later, on February 13, it was adapted for the Meta Quest 3.
In the gap between the initial “Alien” film and the 1986 sequel “Aliens”, we find ourselves in the story of “Alien: Rogue Incursion – Part One”. This narrative casts players as Zula Hendricks, a character well-known from various “Alien” novels and comics. Triggered by a distress signal, she embarks on a perilous journey to the Gemini Exoplanet Solutions’ Castor’s Cradle facility on planet Purdan. The mission aims to uncover the horrific outcome of an experiment involving Xenomorphs that went awry. Accompanied by her android partner, Davis 01, Zula must navigate through the mystery while evading certain death at the claws of the rampaging Xenomorphs and Facehuggers that have overrun the facility.
Starting September 30, 2025, gamers without VR equipment can delve into the thrilling world of Alien: Rogue Incursion, as confirmed by IGN’s reports. The game, titled Alien: Rogue Incursion – Part One: Evolved Edition, is slated for release on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. Remarkably, the Evolved Edition will no longer necessitate a VR headset for play, boasting enhanced graphics and more menacing Xenomorphs compared to its predecessor. The Standard Edition will retail at $29.99, while the Digital Deluxe Edition can be purchased for $39.99. Further details about the game will be revealed at IGN Live next month.
Alien: Rogue Incursion – Part One: Evolved Edition Release Date
- September 30, 2025
Initial reception for the title “Alien: Rogue Incursion ” was predominantly favorable upon its release, with some enthusiasts going so far as to acclaim it as one of the finest “Alien” video games ever produced. Nevertheless, there are those who contend that while “Rogue Incursion ” successfully captures the aesthetic and atmosphere of the films, the incessant Xenomorph attacks might become monotonous when contrasted to the solitary, cunning space creature encountered in “Alien: Isolation“.
According to Developer Survios, Alien: Rogue Incursion is a two-part tale, with the second segment currently being developed since December 2024. In the interim, fans of the iconic Alien film series have been kept busy with an abundance of fresh content, including last year’s Alien: Romulus and the upcoming Alien: Earth television production.
