Alien: Isolation Sequel Wish List

Alien: Isolation Sequel Wish List

As a die-hard fan of the Alien franchise who has spent countless hours huddled behind corners and scurrying through vents in the dark corridors of Sevastopol Station, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming sequel to Alien: Isolation. With the success of Alien: Romulus and the impending arrival of Alien: Earth, it seems that the Alien franchise is poised for a triumphant return.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of “Alien: Isolation”, Creative Assembly has officially announced the creation of a genuine sequel to the widely popular survival horror game. The blockbuster success of “Alien: Romulus” and the upcoming Hulu show “Alien: Earth” have sparked excitement, making the announcement of a new “Isolation” installment seem like the perfect move to rejuvenate the “Alien” franchise.

As confirmed by Alistair Hope, Creative Director at Creative Assembly and director of ‘Isolation’, the follow-up to ‘Alien: Isolation’ is being worked on in its initial stages. More information about the game’s release date and setting will be shared when it becomes available. Fans of the game have been eagerly anticipating elements that they hope Creative Assembly will tackle and expand upon in the upcoming sequel.

What Alien: Isolation 2 Needs

Alien Isolation 2 Should Flesh Out Amanda Ripley’s Story

In the thrilling game Alien: Isolation, the narrative concludes with Amanda Ripley, daughter of Ellen Ripley, narrowly escaping the devastation of Sevastopol Station. She boards the Torrens ship, but encounters a Xenomorph and is blasted into space, leaving many fans wondering about her fate. Most assume this marks the end of Amanda’s story, as portrayed in Aliens when she dies as an elderly woman. However, unbeknownst to some players, Amanda’s tale continues through the debated mobile game Alien: Blackout and Dark Horse comics like Aliens: Resistance and Aliens: Rescue. As not everyone played Blackout or read the comics, Creative Assembly could choose to incorporate or reference these stories in a potential sequel to Isolation or craft a fresh story for Amanda between Isolation and Aliens that doesn’t necessarily build on those previous narratives.

Potential New Protagonists and Other Characters in Alien: Isolation 2

In the space station Sevastopol, many viewers have grown fond of Amanda over time. However, unlike her, most other characters in the game Isolation did not receive the same warm reception. Many of them perished either by Xenomorphs or Working Joes, leaving only Amanda as the lone survivor from Sevastopol. This opens up opportunities for fresh, well-developed characters to join forces with Amanda in the sequel, providing a unique perspective on an Alien outbreak for those unfamiliar with these extraterrestrials. These new characters could potentially take on significant roles alongside Amanda, allowing players to experience the terror of an Alien invasion from the viewpoint of someone who’s not aware of the creatures’ fate. Introducing another playable protagonist could enhance the sequel’s thrill, as while fans know Amanda’s eventual destiny, they remain unaware of a new, original character’s, who could meet an untimely end at any moment.

A Well-Balanced Runtime for Alien: Isolation 2

In the consensus of both dedicated Alien series enthusiasts and horror gaming aficionados, Alien: Isolation was generally well-received, except for one point that warranted improvement – the game’s length. For typical players, completing the main game took roughly 18 hours, achieving 100% completion required approximately 34 hours, and wrapping up the DLCs demanded additional time. While this extended playtime may have seemed like a good deal for a single video game investment, Isolation occasionally felt overly prolonged, causing some players to lose engagement during its latter stages. To enhance the player experience in Alien: Isolation 2, it would be beneficial for Creative Assembly to either shorten the runtime or incorporate engaging additions to maintain interest throughout nearly 24 hours of gameplay.

Alien: Isolation 2 Should Add a Bit More Enemy Variety

In the game titled “Isolation,” the main Alien character was revolutionary in its artificial intelligence, adapting to players’ behaviors and keeping them constantly alert within the Sevastopol’s corridors. Despite this innovation, some players expressed a desire for more diversity in the enemies encountered, beyond Xenomorphs, Working Joes, and deranged crew members. To expand upon “Isolation”‘s antagonist, Creative Assembly could incorporate various types of Xenomorphs within the game. For instance, if an expansive area appears in the sequel, the player might encounter a dog-Alien hybrid that is less formidable than common Xenomorphs but compensates with superior speed. Furthermore, “Alien: Isolation”‘s sequel could introduce some sort of interaction with a Xenomorph Queen, mirroring the events of “Aliens.

Director Fede Alvarez drew inspiration from the video game “Alien: Isolation” and incorporated several aspects of it into his movie. For instance, there were emergency telephones in the film which served a similar function to save points in the game.
