As a seasoned gamer with memories of huddled nights spent cowering behind desks and peeking around corners in the eerie corridors of Sevastopol Station, the news of the Alien: Isolation vinyl and cassette release is music to my ears (and heartbeats). Having grown up on the original Alien film and its haunting score by Jerry Goldsmith, the prospect of owning a physical copy of the soundtrack that kept me on edge for countless hours is nothing short of exhilarating.
To celebrate the 10-year mark since Creative Assembly launched the critically acclaimed game Alien: Isolation, they are making the soundtrack available for purchase in two formats: vinyl records and cassettes.
Now’s when you can place pre-orders! The vinyl edition ($32.99) and cassette version ($11.99) will make their debut at our iam8bit store for the first time. Expected to ship in Q1 2025, these physical copies are a sight for sore eyes. While you can stream it on Spotify right now, nothing beats having the real deal!
As a gamer, I’m excited to share that the captivating music in this game is from the talented duo, Joe Henson and Alexis Smith, often recognized as The Flight and Christian Henson. Plus, Jerry Goldsmith’s iconic themes add to the overall experience. Now, here’s something special: iam8bit has announced a limited edition 20-track album! This release is in honor of the game’s 10th anniversary and will be available digitally, as well as on blood green vinyl and motion-tracker green cassette tapes. To top it off, the original packaging art is by Nimit Malavia, exclusively provided by iam8bit!

The video game Alien: Isolation, which first came out ten years ago, continues to be a topic of conversation among enthusiasts. Just like the Xenomorph creature from the game, interest in it seems to persist. We’ve been fielding requests about creating an official soundtrack for this classic title for quite some time now, and we’re thrilled that it’s finally getting a proper release. This way, fans can listen to and stream the tracks after all these years.
Christian Henson expresses his gratitude for being part of the project and shares his pride, as he learns that the Original Soundtrack (OST) is being launched, allowing everyone to experience the joy we felt while creating this wonderful score.
