How to Expand the Backpack in Starsand Island

Unlocking All Bag Upgrades in Starsand Island

As soon as you begin your adventure on Starsand Island, you’ll get a backpack to carry all sorts of items, no matter how many you collect. But if your backpack gets full – including the quick-access slots at the bottom of the screen – you can either sell things you don’t need or build Storage Boxes to create more room.

When you’re traveling – whether walking, skateboarding, or using a vehicle – you’ll need extra space in your backpack. You can increase its capacity by opening the Bag menu with the “B” key, then selecting the “Expand” option at the bottom left.

To get a bigger bag, click the “Expand” button. A menu will pop up with an option to trade items for an upgrade. The first upgrade costs 5 Fiber, 5 Softwood, and 5 Stones, and it will add 5 extra slots to your bag.

You can upgrade your bag a total of eight times. Each upgrade needs different resources, which will be shown on your screen.
