All Yotei Grasslands Bamboo Strike Locations in Ghost of Yotei

1 – Father’s Bamboo Strike

You’ll discover the first Bamboo Strike in the Yotei Grasslands, and it’s conveniently located right at your Home. Look for the Bamboo Strike on the north-west ledge of the cliff. Just interact with the broken stand to fix it and test your blade’s skill against it.

2 – Nupur River Bamboo Strike

Travel up the Nupur River until you get close to the Maw of the Serpent. Then, turn sharply to the left and head west. You’ll find the Bamboo Strike location just above the Crow’s Nest Watchtower. You must talk to the character (NPC) there to convince him to move.

3 – Mountain Trail Bamboo Strike

So, I recently unlocked the Mountain Trail Bamboo Strike, and it happened automatically while I was doing “The Way of the Dual Katana”. That’s a Main Tale that pops up as soon as you get to Ezo for the first time. Basically, you just need to head west from the Yotei Grasslands to get to the Mountain Trail, and you’ll run into an old master there. Now, this Bamboo Strike has a bit of a weird thing going on – it only uses the left side of the controller. It made it a little trickier than the others, honestly, but it’s definitely doable! 4 – Yotei River Bamboo Strike

Okay, so I’m heading north of the Yotei River – just look for the “Y” on the map and go a little bit past it. That’s where I found the Bamboo Strike! It’s up on a hill surrounded by these cool white trees, and honestly, it’s like a little wildlife viewing spot. I had some foxes and even a baby bear watching me try to nail the challenge. Don’t worry though, I was a little nervous about a mama bear showing up, but thankfully it seems like Atsu won’t end up as bear food even if I mess up! It’s a pretty safe spot, thankfully.

5 – Matsumae Encampment Bamboo Strike

When you arrive at the Matsumae Encampment with Jubei during the Main Tale “The Oni”, you’ll meet a Matsumae Samurai who will challenge you to demonstrate your strength with the Bamboo Strike. Successfully completing the Bamboo Strike will not only give you a stylish new hat, but also a chance to playfully embarrass Jubei in front of his Matsumae peers.

6 – Urara Bamboo Strike

Travel east from the Ishikari Fork and into the Urara Forest to find the Oni’s Breath Inn. Right next to the inn, you’ll discover a Bamboo Strike activity. Successfully finishing it will earn you a broken demon mask – a fitting reward considering the teasing you’ll receive from those watching!

7 – Rumoi Bamboo Strike

Traveling further north from the Ishikari Plain, you’ll come across the Rumoi River. Look on the map, just above and between the letters “O” and “I”, and you’ll see the Bamboo Strike located on a hill. There’s a settler living there who needs to be relocated, but you can easily do that by either paying him 200 coins or choosing to spare him. Don’t worry, it’s a peaceful encounter, so you won’t create any new enemies. This is a straightforward task.

8 – Huranui’s Rest Inn Bamboo Strike

To begin the Bamboo Strike, go to Huranui’s Rest Inn. You’ll need to drink 2 bottles of Sake first. You can do this by holding Down on the D-Pad. Once you’re sufficiently inebriated, you’ll be able to complete the Bamboo Strike. You can find Sake bottles at the inn, or you can purchase them from various merchants.

9 – Misty Valley Bamboo Strike

You can find the Misty Valley Bamboo Strike south of the Tokachi Range, beyond Shizunai Woods and within the Abandoned Tominaga Estate. However, it’s only accessible after you begin or finish the “The Spider Lily General” Mythic Tale. To start, go to the Mysterious Gate south of Shizaunai Woods. From there, head left and you’ll encounter a maze. Successfully navigate the maze three times by following the paths marked with spider lilies (the red flowers), and the Bamboo Strike will become available.

10 – Niikappu’s Fork Bamboo Strike

Okay, so I’m looking for the Bamboo Strike, and from what I’ve heard, you need to head northeast from Huranui’s Rest Inn. Then, go south past the Twin Ponds of Hidaka. It’s up on a hill with a few other people around, but seriously, be careful! As soon as you get close, two really aggressive bears show up. You’ll definitely need to be ready for a fight and get your sword ready before you even think about starting the challenge. It’s going to be a tough one, but I’m excited to try it! 11 – Sakuru Bamboo Strike

You can find the Bamboo Strike in the snowy northern area of Teshio Ridge. It’s located north of Sakuru Woods, high up on a snow-covered mountain with a few altars. Just follow the golden birdto its destination, and you’ll reach the Bamboo Strike. It’s quite a trek! Keep an eye out for the landmarks.

12 – Hakodake Bamboo Strike

You can find the Bamboo Strike east of the Hakodake Mountains, as you go up the slope. Even though it’s a cold area, the frost won’t harm Atsu like it would further north. The Bamboo Strike is located near a small hut on the cliffside. Once you complete it, a fortune teller will appear. If you give her 200 Coins, she’ll read your fortune and give you a new side mission.

13 – Sarobetsu Bamboo Strike

Go to Sarobetsu Lake in the north-west area – it’s an Inn situated next to a frozen lake. Leaving the Inn, travel northeast and you’ll soon discover this Bamboo Strike, located close to a big rock.

14 – Atago Bamboo Strike

You’ll find the Bamboo Strike just above the Atago Rice Fields. To begin, you need to pick up and throw all the spears and swords nearby. Hold down R2 and press Square to do this. If you try to start the Bamboo Strike without first getting rid of these weapons, you’ll be struck by lightning every time.

15 – Matsumae Bamboo Strike

You’ll find the village area of Castle Matsumae by heading south along Oshima Coast, beyond the Atago Rice Fields. The Bamboo Strike activity is located to the right of this village, past a beautiful blossom tree path in the courtyard. Just like other activities, this Bamboo Strike requires you to use your left hand, so be sure to prepare the left side of your controller.
