All BO6 Sword upgrades in Citadelle des Morts Zombies: How to get Caliburn, Durendal, Balmung and Solais

The zombie map in Black Ops 6’s Citadelle des Morts is filled with hidden treasures and fun references to discover. What sets this abandoned castle map apart is its powerful Elemental Swords, similar to the cherished bows from Der Eisendrache.

After obtaining the Swords within Citadelle des Morts, you’ll have to accomplish certain tasks based on the specific sword you selected to enhance it. Here is a straightforward guide detailing the steps needed to improve the Stag, Dragon, Raven, and Lion Swords in BO6 Zombies, located within Citadelle des Morts:

How to upgrade Stag Sword (Durendal) in BO6

  1. Obtain the Sword from the knight statue with the Stag on its chest.
  2. Get enough Salvage to put the Dead Wire Ammo Mod on your weapon.
  3. You then need to collect 3 Lightning Rods:
    • One is right next to Deadshot Daquiri on the left, propped up against some wooded boxes.
    • By Speed Cola, you’ll find a fuse box close to the stairs on the right side of the map. Shoot it with Dead Wire to get a Lightning Rod.
    • The last will drop from a randomly spawned Zombie, so look out for it.
  4. Once you have all three, make your way to the left castle rampart. You’ll find a metal vase with three holes in it just before the oil trap and cannon.
  5. Hold interact to place the Lightning Rods in the vase.
  6. A thunderstorm will start and Zombies will spawn.
  7. Use your Sword to kill Zombiues by the vase, once your Sword glows blue with electricity, strike the vase.
  8. Do this 3 times and you’ll get the Durendal Sword.

In the stronghold of the dead, known as Citadelle des Morts, lies the sword called Durendal. Its unique ability discharges an electric bolt that shocks and vaporizes zombies.

How to upgrade Dragon Sword (Caliburn) in BO6

  1. Once you have the Sword from the Dragon knight, head to the dragon statue that’s up the stairs in front of Juggernog.
  2. Hold interact in front of the Dragon statue to place your Sword.
  3. You then need to find the three Dragon braziers around the map:
    • One is in the spawn area near the Rage Inducer.
    • Another is just after the first door in spawn on the left side of the map.
    • The last can be found on the Melee Macchiato side of the castle rampart.
  4. Interacting with these with put you on fire and you’ll need to run back to the Dragon statue and interact with it before losing your health (killing Zombies will increase your health on the way)
  5. You will then be able to pick up Caliburn.

In simpler terms, the weapon known as the Dragon Sword, also called Caliburn, serves as Citadelle des Morts’ flaming sword. Its unique ability involves unleashing a series of fiery bursts at zombies, resulting in a lethal explosion.

How to upgrade Raven Sword (Balmung) in BO6

  1. Pick up the Sword from the Raven knight.
  2. Head to the Library/Lab next to the Dining Hall.
  3. On one of the shelves in this room you’ll find an animal skull that you can pick up.
  4. The animal skull will change location and type each game, you’ll need to find out which animal it is and relate it to a star sign.
  5. Once you know the star sign, make your way to the tavern’s cellar in spawn.
  6. Here, you’ll find a dial, interact with it to place your animal skull and it will light up.
  7. Interact with it again to place your sword.
  8. Match the star sign symbol with the elemental symbol on the dial using the following key:
    • Fire (triangle): Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius
    • Earth (upside down triangle with line through): Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn
    • Air (triangle with line through): Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius
    • Water (upside down triangle): Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces.
  9. Once you match them up by rotating the dials, a purple portal will spawn on the floor along with purple orbs.
  10. The orbs will follow you, and you need to lead them into the portal on the floor.
  11. Once complete, the orb will move upstairs in the tavern, and a third will spawn near the pool table on the second floor.
  12. Once all three are done, the orb will go back to the cellar and you will be able to collect Balmung from the dial in the cellar.

If you don’t solve the star sign and element conundrum correctly, you’ll have to hold off until the next game begins for another attempt. Meanwhile, the unique ability of the empty Sword is to emit a purple fissure, which attracts Zombies and annihilates them.

How to upgrade Lion Sword (Solais) in BO6

  1. Pick up the Lion knight’s sword and head to the area of the map where Speed Cola is.
  2. on the right side of this area, there will be a little patch that goes under the buildings.
  3. Here, you’ll find a door with a Lion on it that has a lantern lit up outside of it.
  4. Melee the door and symbols will light up.
  5. You’ll then need to kill the yellow-glowing Parasites that spawn and killing them will make your sword glow.
  6. Melee the door with your glowing sword quickly after. Do this four times and then melee the door one final time.
  7. You’ll be transported into a room and you’ll need to place your sword on the pedestal.
  8. A symbol will appear on the pedestal and others will spawn around the room.
  9. Find and shoot the matching symbol, once done, another will spawn
  10. Do this for all four symbols and you’ll get the Solais Sword.

The unique strike from the Radiant Blade envelops its wielder in a shielding radiance, annihilating nearby zombies and offering temporary healing benefits.

It’s important to note that you can only get the base Sword after round 10, and you’ll need to have unlocked Pack-a-Punch in Citadelle des Morts too.
