As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent in various sandbox survival games under my belt, I can wholeheartedly vouch for the importance of Brewing Barrels in Once Human. The intricacies of the game’s systems often require a bit of exploration and experimentation to truly master, and Brewing Barrels are no exception.
In the game Once Human, merely creating weapons, armor, and equipment isn’t sufficient for optimal success. To truly leverage all the game’s features, it is essential that you also prioritize crafting and utilizing Brewing Barrels as part of your strategy.
Using Brewing Barrels is simple, but knowing what to put in them involves a fair bit of guesswork. You can’t just pick something to brew like when cooking food and drink recipes in Once Human. Here are the Brewing Barrel recipes that we’ve found so far to help you get your stock of drinks and ingredients up pronto.
Once Human Brewing Barrel Recipes
In the game Once Human, specially designed Barrels are used for creating unique types of food, drinks, and other liquids that cannot be prepared using traditional stoves. Unlike choosing dishes from a menu, you create items with Brewing Barrels by adding ingredients directly into the barrels themselves. Here are some known recipes in the game so far:
- Acid: Impure Acid + Purified Water
- Corn Ale: Corn + Purified Water
- Stardust Corn Ale: Deviated Corn + Purified Water
- Malt Ale: Wheat + Purified Water
- Stardust Malt Ale: Deviated Wheat + Purified Water
- Pickle: Cucumber + Purified Water
- Cheese: Milk + Purified Water
Brewing Barrel recipes use a 2:1 input-output ratio on ingredients.
Although not always required, beers brewed from corn and wheat are excellent for hydration. You can enhance the value of beer by experimenting with unconventional ingredients, some of which can be sourced naturally or grown yourself. Crops may develop unusual traits when you use fertilizer with a mutation boost, or if a Buzzy Bee is taking care of your plants.
Regular ale will keep your sanity from dropping for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, Deviated versions provide the Quick Reflexes buff, which increases your character’s action speed by 20%. This only affects the speed at which you interact with things like chopping trees or mining ore. It does not make you move, shoot, or reload faster.
Among all these recipes, I find the one for Acid to be indispensable for numerous players like myself in Once Human. Acquiring Acid can be quite laborious since it’s often dropped by Deviations such as the Gnawers, who can be found in almost every Point of Interest (POI). Given the extensive use of Acid in crafting ammo, ingots, and various other items, farming enemies becomes a tiresome task.
How To Make Acid With Brewing Barrels
- Build a Water Pump in a polluted area to gather Polluted Water.
- Place Polluted Water in an Osmosis Water Purifier to get Impure Acid.
- Mix Impure Acid with Purified Water in a Brewing Barrel to make regular Acid.
As a seasoned survivalist with years of experience under my belt, I’ve learned that having a reliable source of Acid is crucial for crafting essential items in my base. Here’s a simplified guide on how to set it up:
