All Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Campaign Cutscenes Have Leaked Online

Highlights

  • All Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 campaign cutscenes have leaked online.
  • With a runtime of over 26 minutes, the leaked footage spoils a lot of the game’s story, but not all of it, because it lacks audio.
  • The cutscenes have reportedly been datamined from a PS4 build of Black Ops 6 that leaked online in early August 2024.

As someone who has been eagerly awaiting the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 since its announcement, finding out that the campaign cutscenes have leaked online is like hearing the sweet sound of a piper’s tune after a long winter’s night. However, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows – the lack of audio in these leaks means I’m left squinting at the screen trying to piece together the story like a deaf person at a stand-up comedy show.

Over the second weekend of August 2024, all campaign cutscenes for what appears to be the upcoming game “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” have appeared online. The source of this footage is said to be a recently leaked beta version of “Black Ops 6”.

For some time now, snapshots and clips of gameplay for the forthcoming 2024 edition of “Call of Duty” have been popping up on social media platforms. The latest of these leaked content comes from a development build of “Black Ops 6” for PS4, showcasing revamped menus, a new Gunsmith interface, and other changes in the upcoming shooter game.

Black Ops 6 Campaign Cutscenes Datamined Months Ahead of Release, But Without Audio

On August 10, a significant leak occurred as Twitter user Kivikou posted the entire sequence of cutscenes from the game. However, Twitter swiftly removed this content due to a copyright claim by Activision. Yet, copies of the leaked footage can be found across various internet sites. The total runtime of these leaked cutscenes is approximately 26 minutes and 19 seconds. Although the leak does reveal the storyline for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 campaign, understanding it fully might be challenging due to the absence of audio in some scenes.

It’s likely that the cutscenes found in the leaked version of the upcoming Call of Duty game don’t have sound for several reasons. One possibility is that the audio files were not included in the PS4 version of the game that was leaked online, as reported by Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, who cited unnamed sources. Another possibility is that the dataminer might have overlooked the audio files, as they are often finalized late in development and are stored separately from video files. It’s also possible that since Black Ops 6 is still ten weeks away from release, the leaked build may not have had all the necessary audio files.

More Black Ops 6 Leaks Could Be Coming Soon

The leak itself can ultimately be pinned on the Call of Duty HQ app, whose PS4 version was recently updated with the Black Ops 6 beta build. This allowed people with jailbroken consoles to access the test version of the game and start poring over its files. Aside from cutscenes and menus, this beta build is also believed to be the source of the complete list of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 achievements that leaked online immediately afterward.

It’s likely that, given the 23GB+ size of the leaked PS4 build, enthusiasts may uncover additional data in the coming days. The game, titled “Black Ops 6”, is set for release on October 25. A public beta for its multiplayer mode will be available from September 6 to 9.
