As a huge cinema fan, I was immediately hooked by Dispatch – it throws you right into a really compelling superhero story and you quickly meet the characters who matter most. It’s definitely a story-driven experience; you’re constantly making choices through dialogue, and a lot of those choices feel genuinely important as you play.
Some choices in this game just add flavor to the story, while others can really change how the plot unfolds or affect how characters interact. Here’s a detailed guide to the first episode of Dispatch, covering all the important decisions and conversations you’ll come across.
Dispatch Episode 1 Walkthrough
At the beginning of the episode, you’ll meet Robert, the main character, who is lying on the floor and speaking with someone else. The first question you’ll encounter will be about his father, and here are the options you’ll have to choose from:
- I love my dad.
- Didn’t know him well.
- He’s gone.

Feel free to pick whatever you want, since your choices don’t have any real impact. Keep talking until Robert leads the henchman out onto the balcony and presents him with a difficult decision.
- Let Him Drop.
- Pull Him Back.
Choosing the first option won’t significantly alter things right away, but you’ll experience a small difference in how things play out later on.

If you chose the Interactive experience, you’ll soon encounter your first Quick Time Events (QTEs). After defeating the enemies, you’ll begin a hacking minigame. This part is fairly simple: just move to the right and press the buttons as they appear. You’ll need to open a path to one data square, then go back and open another path to reach the rest.

After completing the quick-time events and entering the security room, you’ll be presented with these dialogue options:
- It’s over, Shroud.
- Prepare to die.
- I’m here to f*** you up.

You can choose any of these options, and the next choice will be:
- PUNT.
- STOMP.
Okay, so this decision I’m making now will affect what happens with that enemy, but it’s a pretty minor thing. The cutscene will change a little bit based on my choice, but everything else – the final result – will stay the same. It’s mostly just a different scene, not a different outcome.

Next, you’ll encounter another sequence of quick-time events. During this, you’ll get a chance to respond when Toxic attempts to explain why rerouting the pulse power won’t succeed.
- Bullsh*t.
- IGNORE HIM.
- You’re bluffing.
Feel free to pick any of these choices – none of them will affect the story. After that, you’ll watch the rest of the scene and then face a quick interview with reporters, where you’ll need to answer three questions.
- Do you have anything to say to your fans? (Can go for any choice)
- I did my best.
- Thank you.
- It was all for you.
- Are you retiring? (Can go for any choice)
- Pretty much.
- Not yet.
- How disappointed would your dad be if he were here right now?
- Answer. (+ Reputation)
- Leave. (Reputation stays the same)
- Attack. (-Reputation)
Next, you’ll head outside. Robert will be observing some TVs displayed near a store, while behind them, robbers are loading stolen goods into a truck. You’ll then be presented with a set of options to choose from.
- First Choice: (Can go for any choice)
- That’s pretty disrespectful.
- Put it down and leave.
- I was watching that.
- Second Choice: (Can go for any choice)
- I’m Mech Man.
- Someone with nothing to lose.
- Honestly, not sure anymore.
- Third Choice: (Only the first option lands a hit on the enemy, no major changes in the outcome)
- PUNCH WITH LEFT.
- PUNCH WITH RIGHT.

Once the robbers begin attacking, a woman named Blonde Blazer will intervene and take care of them. She’ll then notice your injured arm and offer to help, giving you a few choices about what to do next.
- I’d prefer a professional.
- Have you done this before?
- I can do it myself.
You’re free to make any decision now, and then you’ll move to the bar. There, you’ll have a lengthy conversation with Blond Blazer, and you’ll be presented with three different things to say.
- First Dialogue: (Can go for any choice)
- Rough day?
- That feels like a challenge.
- Impressive.
- Second Dialogue: (Choice affects relationship with Blond Blazer)
- I like helping people. (+ Relationship)
- I don’t know. (- Relationship)
- Only thing I’m good at. (Relationship stays the same)
- Third Dialogue: (Can go for any choice)
- Sounds intriguing.
- Hopefully nothing scandalous.
- A bar proposition?
Once Blond Blazer leaves, you will have an interaction with Flambae and will have two dialogue options:
- When deciding a name for Flambae: (This does not have a major impact on the story, but is mentioned later in the story)
- Mr. Wet Ponytail.
- Dr. Don’t Do Sh*t.
- Sunglasses at Night Guy.
- When choosing what to throw at Flambae: (This choice changes the wording of the next dialogue with Blond Blazer and also impacts the cutscene with Flambae.)
- WATER.
- ALCOHOL.

Now that the fight has calmed down, the bartender will ask you to leave. Once you’re outside, Blond Blazer will approach and want to know what caused the commotion inside.
- Guy fell down.
- Extinguished a situation/Got fired up (This changes depending on your previous action)
- Made a little mess.
No matter what you decide, Blond Blazer will lead you to a billboard near the Hollywood sign. You’ll sit with her and start a new conversation, with several different things you can say – but most of your choices won’t affect the story.
- Option 1: (Can go for any choice)
- Thanks for helping me.
- I really needed this.
- Sorry about the spit thing.
- Option 2: (Choosing the first option increases your relationship with Blond Blazer.)
- KISS HER.
- LET THE MOMENT PASS.
- Option 3: (Can go for any choice)
- This is an interview?
- My suit was destroyed.
- Not exactly professional.
- Option 4: (Can go for any choice)
- When do I start?
- What if I say no?
- Dispatch heroes?

As you talk to her, she’ll give you a pair of glasses for Robert, which begins the SDN Dispatcher tutorial. Next, you’ll choose a Superhero to send on the call. Each Superhero has unique strengths, so consider what the situation demands. Sometimes, even the best choice might not succeed, resulting in a low success rate – and that’s perfectly normal.

Once you finish this part, you’ll return home and have a final conversation with your dog. You’re free to choose any response you like during that conversation.
- GIVE HIM CEREAL.
- Who’s a good boy?
- It’s gonna be alright.
That finishes the first part of the game. Next, you’ll see how your choices stacked up against other players, and then you can move on to the next part.
